With its extravagant parties and flashy lifestyle, the telly world may appear like a glamourous industry that anyone would love to be a part of. But, the truth is not everything that glitters is gold! While we might think that our TV stars have an easy life, the reality of the industry is actually harsh AF. Recently, Nia Sharma spilled the beans about her ‘ugly fights’ over delayed payments and we were left in shock!
Nia has been in the industry for a long time and she is one of the most sought-after stars! The good, the bad and the ugly, she has seen it all and the actress is not afraid to talk about it.
In a recent interview, Nia said, “You work your a** off and you are begging for your payments. I have gone through that and I have fought. Like, ugly fights. I was the person, call it my bachpana (childishness) or whatever, I used to stand outside the studio. ‘Until my payment is made, I will not work.’ Yes, I have given those ultimatums because there was no other way my payment was going to be made. We have been made to beg, to cry, and to plead.”
The Naagin actress added, “I have been denied my money but I made sure that I extract that money, no matter how. I was ready that you blacklist me or don’t give me work again, I never cared about those things. Yes, I fought and fought and fought like a queen to just get my money out.”
There are so many things to unpack here! First of all kudos to Nia for standing her ground even in the worst situations and not letting anyone take advantage of her. We still can’t believe that even the most sought-after stars go through something like this. Evidently, one’s talent is not enough to survive in the entertainment industry and it certainly won’t save them from industry bullies. No one should have to go through so much hardship just to get their own money. Period.
Nia has certainly won our hearts by blowing the lid on such an important issue. We can always count on her for keeping it real.
