I still remember my mother telling me that I was born with big hazel eyes. I guess I should thank my mother for these big beautiful hazel eyes. I was 10 years old when my doctor told me that I need glasses. Honestly, I hated it. But, eventually, just like every change, I embraced this one too.
A few years later, my parents told me that I could switch to wearing lenses. It was exciting to be able to step out without glasses. It’s been almost 10 years since I started wearing clear power lenses but I never thought of wearing coloured lenses. Growing up, I had seen people experimenting with coloured lenses. One could finally match their eye colour with their outfit! How cool is that? I was not sure if I could pull off coloured lenses. So when Bausch & Lomb sent me 10 pairs of different coloured lenses, I took it as an opportunity to make my Christmas and New Year super colourful. Here are a few looks that I created:
It’s a red Christmas, baby!
I am someone who likes to keep things simple. I like to step out with very little makeup. So, it’s safe to say that I was a bit hesitant to try these on. From Aqua to Violet, the lenses I had were pretty cool but for my first time, I was pretty hesitant but I gave in anyway. I wore my favourite red dress and the Bausch & Lomb Lacelle Circle Brown lenses went perfectly with it. My natural eye colour is hazel, so brown made my eyes shine brighter. It was amazing because people could notice something different but were unable to put a finger on what it was. As I mentioned before, I don’t like too much makeup, and these lenses made my eyes look prettier even without mascara. My friends and family loved my new look and clicked a million pictures of me! Entering the new year like…
For NYE, I chose to go with a classic black dress. It’s my go-to colour because you can accessorise and experiment with it endlessly. Be it metallics or neon, there is nothing that does not go with black. After getting multiple compliments on Christmas, I decided to take it a step further on New Year’s Eve. I am scared of trying out new things but, this time, I wanted to go all out with my look. New year, new me! So, I paired my black jumpsuit with a pair of Bausch & Lomb Lacelle Premium Blue lenses. Here is a picture from the night.
Honestly, I loved both my looks so much that I just could not get enough of them. So I goofed around with the lenses a little more and since you get to see the dressy side of me, you should see this one too! I made my holiday season a season of experiments and wore these coloured lenses every time I stepped out. From shopping to a casual dine-out, they were my best companions. Here are a few of my everyday looks!

Just for fun, I decided to wear two different lenses. I am wearing Bausch & Lomb Lacelle Circle Aqua in my right eye and Bausch & Lomb Lacelle Premium Blue lenses in the left. Maybe I should come to work wearing these one day. What say?

I had a great time experimenting with something that I never thought I would even try. Don’t be surprised if you ever bump into me and see me wearing one of these. I think everyone should experience the feeling of wearing coloured lenses. I am not sure if I will wear them every day but it’s safe to say that they have become my favourite party accessory.
