When we first heard about Kangana Ranaut’s Lock Upp, we were hella excited ‘coz it felt like the perfect show to take away our post-Bigg Boss blues. However, after watching the first episode, we have mixed feelings about it and we aren’t the only ones. Netizens took to Twitter to share their verdict on the show and boy-oh-boy they had a lot to say.
As expected, everyone compared Lock Upp with the OG controversial reality show Bigg Boss. A netizen wrote, “Big Boss ka sasta copy LOL!” Another user pointed out that Kangana herself is acting like a contestant instead of taking charge. “Lmao, sorry but why is Kangu acting like a contestant? Isn’t she meant to be the host. It’s pretty clear she’s going to be generating all the drama, much more than the contestants will themselves,” read the tweet.
Many people also complained about the technical aspects of the streaming platform and we totally agree. A Twitter user shared, “#LockUpp is mixed of squid game & bigboss. And that shit voice tho is irritating like robot got extra bass boom volume. Bb voiceover was best #KKundrraSquad.”
“Please adjust the volume of live, specially guards, its so hard to hear things clearly. Also wide camera angle could be great, though am unable to cast my app screen on TV, dunn know why,” shared another viewer.
Ekta Kapoor Talks About Bigg Boss V/S Lock Upp
A while ago, Ekta Kapoor spoke about the comparison between Bigg Boss and Lock Upp. She said, “All captive realities all over the world get compared with each other and this is a captive reality. It’s like saying did you ever get scared because one soap opera got compared with the other? There’ll be 10 shows, we will see them as same stories. But they have all worked on their own differences.”
Ekta added, “There is going to be constant comparison. People will say stuff. But captive reality and original captive reality will also have its differences. Aap dekhiye kitna alag hoga.“
