South Indian superstar Nayanthara tied the knot with her long time director beau Vignesh Shivan yesterday. The pictures from the ceremony are finally out and they look every bit dreamy. The couple dated for seven long years before taking the plunge and the beautiful camaraderie that they share is visible in all the snippets from the Mahabalipuram wedding. The Fusion Bride
Nayanthara looked like a vision as she walked the aisle in her JADE by MK saree and an ethereal scalloped veil. A perfect fusion of tradition and modernity, the vermilion saree featured tonal embroidery inspired by the carvings of the Hoysala temples. For her crew neck blouse, the designer duo Monica & Karishma reimagined Goddess Lakshmi motifs as bajubandh on the long sleeves. Nayanthara’s look was finished off with layered polki and emerald jewels and a minimal trail.
The Traditional Groom
While Nayanthara’s outfit was all about experimentation, Vignesh opted for a look rooted in tradition and dressed up in a standing collar kurta, zari veshti (dhotti), and matching shawl. Impactful yet simple, the all-ivory look perfectly complemented Nayanthara’s outfit.
