  • Lemon
  • Warm water
  • Spray bottle

Method:

Step 1: To get started, squeeze the juice from the lemons into the spray bottle and add water. It’s best to add two parts of water for each part of lemon juice.

Step 2: Wet your hair, then spritz the lemon juice mixture throughout the lengths — or just over the sections you want to lighten. To maximise its lighting abilities, sit in the sun for up to 1 hour. Then, wash the lemon juice out of your hair. PS: Don’t forget to apply sunscreen to any exposed skin to protect it from the Sun!

Step 2: Mix it all together. You can add a bit of conditioner if the consistency is too thick. Then, let the mixture sit for half an hour, giving time for hydrogen peroxide to activate. Apply the mixture to your hair, tie it up in a bun, and slap on a shower cap. Leave this on your hair for at least four hours. Even better if you can let it sit overnight, just remember to put a towel over your pillowcase to avoid stains.
