7 B-Town Celebs Who Were Trolled After Their Divorce

Breakups and divorces are not easy for anyone. Even when couples part ways amicably to start a fresh chapter of their lives, the separation can be painful. It’s a time when they require the support of their loved ones and good vibes around them. Sadly, several Bollywood pairs have experienced exactly the opposite of this after their split and it’s infuriating AF.

Famous celebs have faced nasty trolling by netizens during and after their divorce proceedings and it’s problematic on so many levels. By questioning and commenting their decision, people tend to invade their personal space. Also, these negative remarks can take a toll on their mental health and affect their family’s wellbeing as well. Unfortunately, netizens have often failed to understand this and spewed hatred on B-town couples who decided to end their marriage.

Here are the couples who have experienced this ordeal and why it’s highly offensive:

Dhanush & Aishwaryaa

Instagram

Actor Dhanush and producer Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth announced their divorce after eighteen years of marriage on January 17. The couple issued an emotional statement on their social media handles, but it did not sit right with several netizens. They shared a throwback picture posted by Aishwaryaa on her ‘Gram a few months ago. It was when her husband and father, veteran actor Rajinikanth, won National Awards. She had called herself a ‘#ProudDaughter’ and ‘#ProudWife’ in the caption.

Her fans now wonder what happened to the happy couple in a span of three months. They are calling her congratulatory note a sham and blaming Dhanush for ‘forcing’ the divorce on her. The netizens have all kinds of tippani to give at this moment and honestly, it’s infuriating us big time. The actor and his estranged wife are not answerable to these netizens and we hope that the trolls give them the privacy that they have asked for.

Aamir Khan & Kiran Rao

Instagram

Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao parted ways after 15 years of marriage last year. Their divorce created major buzz on social media and netizens crossed all limits by shamefully trolling the celebs. They also accused actress Fatima Sana Shaikh of breaking their relationship and ‘manipulating’ Aamir. Not only was this distasteful but also misogynistic on so many levels.

Sanjeeda Khan & Aamir Ali

Instagram

Sanjeeda Sheikh and Aamir Ali legally parted ways a few months ago after nine years of marriage. The actress was recently trolled on Instagram for sharing a video while dancing. A few netizens decided that it was somehow okay to comment on her clothing and call it the ‘side effects of divorce’. Well, we don’t know why we even need to say it out loud, but it’s not okay at all! Moreover, netizens are speculating that Sanjeeda is secretly dating actor Harshvardhan Rane and he’s the reason behind her separation. Honestly, the grapevine needs to calm down a little.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu & Naga Chaitanya

Instagram

Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya ended their four-year-long marriage in October 2021. Soon after, the grapevine started buzzing with several rumours about their separation. According to random sources, the actor was not happy with Samantha’s intimate scenes in her movies and that caused a rift between the couple. There were also claims that she had demanded hefty alimony from her ex-husband, but her rep denied all such reports later.

Hrithik Roshan & Sussanne Khan

Instagram

Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan’s divorce in 2014 shocked their fans, but what followed next was pure madness. The actor was accused of being a womaniser while the diva was claimed to be addicted to substances. Despite all the nasty rumours, the two have remained great friend post their separation as well.

Arbaaz Khan & Malaika Arora

Instagram

We love how gracefully Arbaaz Khan and Malaika Arora have talked about their divorce in the last few years. However, there were several netizens who trolled them for it and made offensive remarks on their relationship. They claimed that it was Arbaaz’s ‘unsuccessful’ Bollywood career that pushed Malaika to head for splitsville. Honestly, that’s quite a demeaning thing to say and we wonder who gave these people the right to decide how ‘successful’ someone is or isn’t.

Kalki Koechlin & Anurag Kashyap

Instagram

Kalki Koechlin and Anurag Kashyap were married from 2011 to 2015. After their divorce, the director received flak by a few netizens for apparently having extra-marital affair with Huma Qureshi and other actresses. He dismissed all such rumours and called them offensive during an epsiode of Koffee With Karan Season 4.

Divorces is a sensitive topic for couples. We hope that netizens understand this and let people handle their relationships in the way that they seem to be the best.
