Let me tell you, Motoverse 2024 was everything. I wasn’t prepared for the sheer energy of Vagator, Goa, when over 10,000 motorcycling enthusiasts rolled in to celebrate Royal Enfield’s annual biker fest from November 22-24. Imagine this, a sea of roaring engines, the smell of adventure in the air, and a vibe that screamed camaraderie.
It was like stepping into a world where the love for motorcycles wasn’t just a hobby, it was a culture, a movement, a lifestyle.
The Bikes That Stole My Heart
Motoverse didn’t just showcase bikes; it launched icons. The new Goan Classic 350, with its bobber-inspired design, paid tribute to Goa’s rebellious biking spirit. And just when I thought it couldn’t get better, they dropped the Scram 440. With its rugged build and switchable ABS, this beast is perfect for both city commutes and wild weekend trails.
Then came the showstopper, the FT450. Built for flat-track racing, it was the darling of MotoThrill, the event’s sports arena. Watching it power through the Slide School Cup, a competitive event born from Royal Enfield’s Slide School program was pure adrenaline.
MotoThrill: Where Speed Meets Stunts
The iconic Maut Ka Kuan (Well of Death) was the kind of wild you’d expect, but the track races? Next level. From slow races to Maze Chases, every activity tested the grit and passion of the riders. The Slide School Cup debut in India was a game-changer, bringing European-style grassroots racing to the local stage.
While at Motoverse, I also had the pleasure of speaking with Jacqui Furneaux, the Bristol-based adventurer, motorcyclist, and author of Hit the Road, Jac! Her book chronicles her incredible seven-year journey across the world on a Royal Enfield, and her passion for travel was palpable as she recounted her experiences. “I love travelling in India because it’s a very free country when it comes to motorcycling,” she said. When asked about the experience, she shared, “I like the countryside. I try to avoid highways. I like backroads. Last year when I came, Royal Enfield gave me a motorcycle to ride from Chennai to Motorverse in Goa, and I took a route from East to West, which took 10 days and that was a wonderful ride.”
The Music Was On Point
The music? Oh, it was lit. With Ritviz, Raftaar, and Raja Kumari hitting the stage, the vibes were off the charts. And the Spotify Radar Stage introduced me to rising stars like Gini and Zephyrtone, adding a groovy, youthful energy to the mix.
Hearing adventurers like Dave and Laura Chamberlain, who’ve biked across 55 countries, and Guinness record-holder Karthik Tupili narrate their journeys was inspiring. On the other side, MotoVille offered creative workshops and stunning art displays from 12+ countries, showcasing the deep connection between biking, tech, and humanity.
And can we talk about the Revv’ed Up Runway? Royal Enfield’s fashion show gave us vintage aesthetics paired with biker chic. The cherry on top? Motobrew, a crisp lager brewed exclusively for the event, perfectly captured the essence of Goa’s laid-back, yet adventurous, spirit.
Motoverse 2024 wasn’t just an event; it was an experience. From cutting-edge motorcycles and jaw-dropping stunts to incredible music and meaningful conversations, it was a celebration of everything that makes motorcycling culture so electric.
If you missed it, you missed out. But hey, there’s always 2025. Who’s revving their engines for it already?
