What were the Hollywood show makers thinking when they stepped into 2021? Maybe something along the lines of… “Let’s make these fellas hella nostalgic, take ’em on an epic trip down memory lane and leave them wanting for more.” How else are we supposed to explain all the upcoming reboots of our fave shows that are keeping us on the edge of our seats? Well, whatever the makers thought, we believe they’ve hit a jackpot and we’re so not complaining.
While we still have not recovered from the hangover of F.R.I.E.N.D.S. The Reunion, we now have something else to get excited about. What’s that you may ask? Well, Mr Big is coming back into our lives very soon. Yep, Chris Noth is all set to reprise his role of John James Preston in the new chapter of Sex and The City, called And Just Like That.
While talking to an international daily, executive producer of the show, Michael Patrick King said, “I’m thrilled to be working with Chris again on And Just Like That. How could we ever do a new chapter of the Sex and the City story without our Mr Big?” Indeed, how?!
Carrie Bradshaw aka Sarah Jessica Parker took to her Instagram recently and shared the first teaser of the reboot. She wrote, “I couldn’t help but wonder… where are they now? X, SJ” We already knew that the revival would be starring, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, and, of course, SJP herself. But, now we know that Mr Big will be greeting us too.
Chris recently shared a dapper selfie on the ‘Gram. Pretty normal, right? Wait till you hear this. While his caption reminded us of typical Mr Big and all the mystery he used to create, SJP was quick to steal the show with her witty comment. He wrote, “To shave or not to shave–that is the question–to take arms against a sea of whiskers – and by opposing end them?” to which she replied, “I’m so conflicted!!! What a conundrum! X”
Is it just me or you too can feel their chemistry?
Well, it’s no secret that SATC fans have a mixed opinion about Mr Big. While some thought that Carrie was better off without the problematic ‘love of her life’, a few believed that they were meant for each other. We think we’ll get our answers soon.
As of now, the makers haven’t announced the release date. But, we cannot wait to see if Mr Big has evolved in all these years or if he’s still the same.
