Yes, we’re all very upset this year because New Year’s eve is on a Saturday and we aren’t getting a long weekend. But guess what a two-day-long weekend is enough for? Getting lazy and cozy in your comfortable bed with excessive amounts of instant popcorn and Coke and just binge-watching some awesome movies! 1. If you’re not going to make it home for the holidays
No matter how many parties people host on NYE, nothing really beats being home with your family. But if, for some reason, you can’t make it home to mom’s paranthas, watch Kapoor & Sons! It’ll make you smile and make you cry and it’ll make you feel a little bit closer to home. Especially if you have a sibling!

Remember that one trip every group of friends keeps planning…for years and years? Well, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is all over that idea – and if you’re terribly missing your besties, this amazing movie will give just the pepping up you need.

3. If you’re in the mood to sing and dance (and gasp!) in your jammies
Who doesn’t love a little bit of drama at this time of the year? Get your popcorn ready and get cozy – Chicago takes you on a roller-coaster ride… A very musical rollercoaster ride! You’ll be trying to lip-sync to the catchy tunes throughout!

4. If you can’t resist a man in uniform
If you say that you don’t feel a little bit week at the knees when you see a man in a uniforms, we’ll just call your bluff. Especially if the guy happens to be Tom Cruise! Watch Top Gun and keep a tissue handy to wipe off that drool. Or don’t, who cares?!

5. If all you really wanted for Christmas was…to be on a cruise!
Who doesn’t have dreams about being on a fabulous trip this time of the year? Sadly, these kind of dreams get a bit crushed because of insanely high air fares… Well, don’t let that get you down because watching Dil Dhadakne Do will almost make you feel like your dream is coming true! *Almost*

Who cares if you believe in ghosts or not? It’s a love story, not a scientific project. If you’re a rom-com fan, you know that logic doesn’t really matter till the time there is a happy ending for the adorable couple. And Just Like Heaven will give you exactly that – an unusual love story and a surprisingly happy ending!

7. If your parents would never allow you to go on a bachelorette trip
What, you can live vicariously through these three gorgeous boys, can’t you? Just watch as they go on the trip of their lives in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, dancing and sometimes running – and make some plans (that might never happen, we know) with your besties to do the same things. But maybe avoid running with the bulls because that’s just dangerous.

8. If you’ve convinced your guy to watch a rom-com with you!
How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days might not sound like the best movie, but you’ve got to trust us on this – you’ll have a blast watching it with your boyfriend. You’ll laugh, you’ll ask each other interesting questions, you’ll end end up role-playing (no, not the naughty kind) while watch two gorgeous (and hilarious) people fall in love!

9. If you wanna hum along to tunes you know by heart
You know that mood when you want to watch something familiar, not for the story really, because you know it by heart but because you love the songs a bit too much? Rock On is the movie you should turn to if you’re in that mood. Or if you haven’t seen the movie…but we don’t really think that’s possible.

We all go through a slump in the love department sometimes…And looking back now, it might feel a bit worse than it really was. So don’t you give up on love, girl – or, worse, call your ex! Watch Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania instead, a love story that’ll feel so real and adorable that’ll be ready to face the new year with an open heart!

11. If you’re feeling a bit sick of love, to be honest
If you’re just so sick of love stories and just want to catch a break from them, watching something like the Star Trek series is exactly what you need to do! You can completely disconnect from real life and enter a fantasy one – which has really cool tech and visual effects, if you think about it.

12. If you’re ready to channel your ‘desi Mean Girl’ side
If you grew up watching Karan Johar movies, you know that K3G was one of a kind. Kareena as Poo was more incredible than we realized back then…Well, just relive a few memories as you watch the overly dramatic and totally hilarious scenes from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
