The novel coronavirus has affected our lives in many ways–work meetings, workout sessions and classrooms have gone digital–and there are a few things (like hugging each other) that this virus might change forever. Owing to the increasing number of coronavirus cases in India, the first nationwide lockdown was announced on March 24. And life came to a standstill for many. Actor Mounri Roy who was working Abu Dhabi has stuck there ever since the lockdown was announced.
Mouni had gone to UAE in March for a magazine shoot. In a recent interview with an entertainment website, she said, “After the shoot, I decided to stay back in Abu Dhabi for two weeks, as my next project was scheduled to kick off only on April 15. I was possibly ignorant, but I didn’t imagine that the world would shut down. I have been stuck here with four days’ clothes.”
Mouni has been staying with a childhood friend, and like all of us, she is keeping herself busy with chores like cooking, following her hobbies like painting and reading. We guess these are the only small steps that all of us can take right now to keep all the lockdown anxiety at bay. We’re all in the same boat and we shall sail through.
“I have been oscillating between anxiety and calmness. Everybody around the world is going through a hard time. So, I sought solace in the fact that I have a roof over my head and a warm family, away from home. That said, I am eager to return to India,” the actor added.
Well, quite an artist, isn’t she?
Mouni has been keeping in touch with her family through calls. The actor said that she is happy that her brother is with her mom at the moment, “I have been checking on them every day. I am relieved that my brother is by my mom’s side at this time. My cousins also live close by, that’s an added advantage.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Mouni has a big-budget film, called Brahmastra, in her kitty. The film also features Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan.
