We Bet You Didn’t Notice These Subtle But Gorgeous Details In Mouni Roy’s Bridal Looks

That Mouni Roy would make for a drop-dead gorgeous bride is something that we have been sure of since the day we heard of her shaadi rumours. Safe to say that she has surpassed our expectations with not just one but two stellar bridal looks. From Mouni’s sublime saree for the Malayali wedding to the traditional red bridal lehenga for the Bengali ceremony, both her bridal outfits have already found their way to our bookmark folders. However, in addition to the apparent beauty, there is more to her bridal finery—an emotional touch that you’d see once you start paying attention to the details. Read on to find out what we are talking about here:

Malayali Bride With A Bengali Twist

We were in for a pleasant surprise when we first laid eyes on Mouni as a South Indian bride. It was interesting to see how the actress opted for a red and white Bengali Garad saree instead of a Kanjeevaram drape that we generally see at South Indian weddings. However, she did make us for the South Indian touch by completing her look with her temple jewellery set that included a gold choker, a heavy necklace, maang tikka, matha patti, and gorgeous jhumkas.

Besides being a visual treat, there was symbolic beauty to Mouni’s look as she married Suraj’s culture with hers.

Taking The Quintessential Bridal Route

Instagram

Mouni took the quintessential celeb bride route for her Bengali wedding ceremony as she slipped into a vermillion Sabyasachi lehenga set. The traditional look comprised a khaadi silk panelled skirt with floral motifs, an intricately done blouse, a subtly embellished dupatta, and a tissue veil. The lehenga was embellished with Sabyasachi’s signature tilla and marori handwork and we love how every single element of this outfit has its own individual beauty. That said, it is the heavily decked blouse and its highlighted V neck that stands out for us as the most gorgeous detail. From the fit to the embellishments, there is just something about this blouse that screams Mouni Roy!

We are equally smitten by Mouni’s tissue dupatta that has a golden sheen and is providing a soft contrast to her solid red blouse. It is worth noticing how both the dupatta and the veil feature minimal embellishments. Just like Deepika Padukone and Patralekhaa Paul, Mouni too has opted for an inscribed border that says, “Aayushmati Bhava”, which means ‘stay blessed.’

However, what sets Mouni’s veil apart is the dual-sided border. While one side of the border features the aforementioned Bengali inscription, the other side has been done in rich zari thus paying homage to Suraj’s culture.

Here, take a closer look at the Zari border:

We are in awe of how Mouni has managed to celebrate both the Bengali and Malayali cultures while giving us show-stopping looks that have turned out to be just picture perfect.
