With the lockdown in effect, I’ve been home with my family and I can gladly say that the amount of time, (read: quality time) I’ve spent with my parents in these 52 days is more than what I managed in 25 years. I’m sure that’s the case with almost all of you quarantining with your family. We watch old comedy movies together that I grew up watching, play UNO till after midnight which is way past my parents’ bedtime, cook dishes we crave ordering from outside, and whatnot. And with Mother’s Day falling on a lockdown Sunday, I can’t imagine doing anything different.

Well, maybe dressing up in matching clothes with my mom. Boy, does she have some insights into my current wardrobe! Thanks to closet organisation for that realisation.
On that note, I’ll take this opportunity to also appreciate the fashion sense of some mother-daughter duos in Bollywood that me and my mom love. It’s more than good looks and talent that run in the family. Here you go!
How cute are Alia and Soni looking twinning in their shades of red and Indian wear! Love! And Alia looks so much like her mother, doesn’t she? Every since they worked together in Raazi, Soni and Alia have been such style goals for us.
Talking about twinning, Sara and Amrita aren’t too far behind. We’re loving their all-red look from Diwali 2019 here. Just like Amrita, Sara too entered Bollywood with a bang and we don’t see why not. They’re almost always twinning especially during special occasions setting #fashiongoals for me and my mom like a boss!
Neena Gupta’s style sense is as amazing as her award-winning acting skills. We now know where her daughter and a fab fashion designer Masaba Gupta gets it from. After all, the mother-daughter duo is always making an entrance in their statement-making outfits.
Kapoor sisters Janhvi-Khushi and their mom Sridevi have always been ‘gram goals with their A-one style and equally glam posing skills. And they always will be.
Hotness runs in the family and this picture is proof. Pooja Bedi made quite a few headlines in her time with her fashion choices and her daughter, the Jawani Janeman actress, obviously gets it from her mama. It’s clear!
We don’t have to tell you twice about Sharmila Tagore’s bold choices that changed the face of fashion in Bollywood in the ’80s. Soha Ali Khan’s royal dressing sense is a result of that panache. Well, that and her one-of-a-kind choices.
There can’t be talks of fashion without any mention of Sonam and Rhea in it. Daughters of ace jewellery designers, Sunita Kapoor, the Kapoor girls never leave an opportunity to dress up and dazzle. This picture is proof enough.
A family that travels together, stays together. That’s something on our agenda too as soon as the world starts getting back to normal. Did you know that Ananya’s mom Bhavana Panday is a costume designer? It all makes sense now, right? Just look at them flaunting their ruffled dresses with statement heels effortlessly.
Shweta Bachchan is one of those celebrities in Bollywood with a fine personal style. She has recently started her own affordable luxury label MxS World with daughter Navya as her muse. They’re not often in front of the camera but whenever they are, fashion magic spills everywhere. Like here in Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla couture. *Magic*
The most lit part about the recent Diwali party hosted by the Khans at their residence was Suhana and Gauri’s shiny lehengas. The duo never leaves a chance to get in the groove of fashion, whether they are on vacation or at home. We wonder how they’re keepin’ it stylish these days…
Shanaya Kapoor is all set for her debut into Bollywood as an Assistant Director in cousin Janhvi Kapoor’s film Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl. But before that, she had already entered our list of fashion girls to follow. She and Maheep Kapoor’s style is similar and we love them for it. Did you know Maheep also done one Bollywood movie titled Nigori Kaisi Jawan Hai?
It’s sad that there’s a day specially set aside to celebrate mothers everywhere when they should be celebrated all day, every day. They don’t stop being our mothers at any point in time, so how can we stop appreciating them? Don’t wait for Mothers’ Day to tell your mom how much you love her. It takes something as small as a phone call to a matching outfit to make her happy. And isn’t that the whole point of it?! Take it from these 11 celebrity mother-daughter duos, won’t you?
