We are who we are and some of us are broke! Just like Bunny from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, paisa is haath ka maill for you because you love a good lifestyle. While there’s nothing wrong with wanting luxuries but too much fun and no saving can also mean that you’re heading headfirst into broke life. If you have trouble managing your money, you know that your meagre salary won’t be enough to last the month. And that’s probably why you are always broke!
No matter how hard you try to change the way you spend money, it just doesn’t work. And sometimes you don’t even have to wait for the end of the month to be broke ‘coz after paying all those bills and the rent, there’s hardly anything that you’re left with. Sometimes 15 days are all you need to spend an entire month’s salary and end the month with empty pockets! So, if you’re in the same boat as us, here are some things that you’ll totally relate to.
You make all your travel plans at the beginning of the month because we all know that you’ll be broke soon after that. There’s no chance you can go anywhere after the 15th because you’ll never have the money!
Yeah, that’s not gonna happen. You always make resolutions to save money but cutting down on your expenses, but we all know that next month you’re going to say next month and the cycle goes on! From partying to shopping to eating out, you’ve made many resolutions to cut costs but it has never worked out.
You spend the last 15 days of the month calculating where all your money went and imagining what would it be like had you saved your money instead of buying that expensive dress you just didn’t need.
We’re not saying that vada pav is for broke people, but you do go from eating sushi to vada pav for lunch after you’ve spent all your money. Vada pav is love but it’s also your knight in shining armour when you’re out of money.
After 15 days your eyes keep looking for anything and everything that can help you get through the month! All those points in your card, coupons, meal card and offers are your lifeboat and you take full advantage of it.
Jugaad is your superpower. Be it your BFF’s birthday or that dinner plan, you’ve got a frugal solution to save face (and money) and it always works.
Broke life is almost like you turned over a new leaf. From cancelling movie plans to having ghar ka khana, you do whatever it takes to pull through the month. Being broke is all it takes to turn you into a homebody!
Nah, no chance you’re checking your account 15 days after your salary is credited. It’s only after you’ve spent a majority of it that you take a look at your expenditures and your account balance just gives you anxiety!
You’re a pro at puppy eyes! From calling them to buttering them up to resorting to emotional blackmail, you know all the tricks of the trade. And you always have a plan to convince them to help you out ‘one last time’.
The best day of your life is the day your salary is credited into your account. All that money in your account makes you so proud that you managed to make it. And the spending cycle begins again!
There’s nothing wrong with spending what you earn but being left with just 2k in your account after 15 days is not fun at all! And that’s probably why it’s a good idea to do some jugaad to manage your money!
