Attention Money Heist Fans! This OG Squad Member To Get A Spin-Off & We Have All The Deets
December is here and every Money Heist fan knows what it means! It is time to say bella ciao to our favourite gang of robbers (BRB, sobbing). The series is set to wrap up soon and we are still struggling to imagine a world without the red jumpsuits, Dali masks and the suspense.
If you are also dreading this, then we have good news for you folks! The makers of the Spanish series have announced a Money Heist spin-off. The show is titled Berlin and it will drop in 2023. The role of Andrés de Fonollosa aka Berlin will be played by Pedro Alonso.
The fact is—Berlin is one of the most talked-about members of the Professor’s squad! He was a man who was truly a paradox. While charismatic, witty, funny and attractive in many scenes, Berlin is also misogynistic, destructive and undeniably a sexual predator.
Spoiler alert! Right from the moment, we met Berlin in Money Heist, it was love/hate at first sight. As the series progressed, we saw his different shades. Remember how he sacrificed himself to save Nairobi (still can’t watch the scene without crying)? You might love him or hate him, but no one can ignore Berlin.

There is just so much to explore about the character—Berlin’s love affairs, his eventual marriage to Tatiana, his relationship with The Professor and more! No wonder we are smiling cheek to cheek about this announcement.
Speaking about the spin-off, Alonso said, “It is a memorable moment because it is the end of one cycle and the beginning of another. Today I was talking to Jesús Colmenar and we were saying that now we walk into the unknown, open to whatever happens and without expectations.”
He added, “I know that these people will give the series every possible twist and turn. The responsibility (of spinning off such a popular series) can be a burden and a prison, I hope we continue to have the courage to use this wonderful energy to risk everything again.”
For now, Berlin will return in Money Heist season 5 part 2 and we are beyond excited for it!
