Got A Bigg Boss 13-Sized Void In Your Hearts? 5 Rebound Reality TV Shows To Help You Cope

Right after Bigg Boss 13 concluded this Saturday after a prolonged albeit blockbuster season, some loyal followers of the show (including me) were presented with a pressing dilemma: now that Bigg Boss is over, what’s next? I, for one, spent my Sunday night dealing with a gnawing emptiness (I kid you not) as my eyes kept wandering to the empty screen of my television and my heart longed for some Bigg Boss banter.

Now, whether you have been watching the show with the detached nonchalance of a cynic or the passionate intensity akin to one of Sidnaaz fan clubs, chances are that you too must be dealing with some serious withdrawal symptoms right now. Sailing the very same ship, we have curated a list of reality shows which are perfect for the purposes of some rebound watching and would surely help you get over the Bigg Boss 13 hangover.

Mujhse Shaadi Kroge?

If Shehnaaz Gill happened to be a major part of the reason why you watched Bigg Boss then this is just the show for you and I am guessing that the makers had the very same thing on their minds while conceptualising Mujhse Shaadi Karoge. Oh, and to rustle things up some more, Shehnaaz’s love interest tuned arch-nemesis from Bigg Boss 13, Paras Chhabra, has also been roped in for the show. The show would be anchored by Maniesh Paul and went on air last night (17th February). Needless to say, it is already creating substantial buzz given its controversial subject matter that revolves around the idea of a Swayamvar. In the show, Shehnaaz and Paras would be locked inside the house with six suitors each and this pitch is solid enough for any Bigg Boss enthusiast to tune in immediately.

Khatron Ke Khiladi

Bigg Boss 13 followers are well aware of how desperately the Khatron Ke Khiladi team has waited for the show to get over to fill in their weekend slots. I am not saying it, Rohit Shetty said it, like a gazillion times during his gazillion visits to the Bigg Boss house this season. With an illustrious cast including the likes of Karishma Tanna, Tejasswi Prakash, Adaa Khan, Amruta Khanvilkar, Karan Patel, Shivin Narang, RJ Malishka, and of course, Dharmesh Sir, the “Darr Ki University” this time goes to Bulgaria.  And we could really use the high octane tasks and the subsequent adrenaline to fill the Bigg Boss 13 shaped void in our hearts.

Roadies Revolution

MTV

Now for all of you out there who have lost track, Roadies enters into its 17th season this year. Titled Roadies Revolution, this season is special for all the right reasons. While Neha Dhupia, Nikhil Chinapa, Raftaar, and Prince Narula, along with host Rannvijay Singha return to the show, they’d be touching upon one social cause each. Thus, while Neha Dhupia would be championing the cause of women’s safety,  social discrimination would find an advocate in Raftaar, Nikhil Chinapa would be seen raising awareness about climate change, and Prince Narula would be seen taking a stand against drug abuse. And just in case you miss the old, ‘Karizmatic’ Roadies, here’s some news for you all: this year the show returns to the good-old bike days and we are stoked!

Supermodel Of The Year

MTV

While the show is already running in its last leg, Supermodel Of The Year would provide you with some good binge-watching material if you haven’t been following the show. With a flamboyant line-up of judges including Malaika Arora, Milind Soman, Masaba Gupta, and Ujjwala Raut, this show is all the escape you need from the post-Bigg Boss 13 ennui. Following the journey of ten aspiring models and hosted by the vivacious Anusha Dandekar, this show has all that it takes to keep you entertained and we suggest you tune in right away.

What The Love!

Okay, now that you have the name of the show and are smart enough to figure out what it connotes to, here’s the real tea: the show is anchored by Karan Johar! Based on the millennial search for love, the show introduces you to six contestants, each one ready to be transformed under Johar’s tutelage and thus become “love ready.” As problematic as the subject matter of the show might be, it is sure to satiate your perverse love for trashy-tv and would make up for an interesting watch, given you do it with the recognition of irony that it happens to be.

Which one are you planning to binge-watch first?
