So much has happened in December! This month we have been glued to our phone screens for several reasons — Vicky Kaushal-Katrina Kaif’s wedding, Bigg Boss 15‘s crazy fights and so much more. Another super exciting thing that happened this month was when India’s Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu bagged the Miss Universe 2021 crown at the 70th edition of the competition.
After 21 long years, the prestigious title finally returned home! Throughout the pageant Harnaaz constantly amazed us all with her confidence and charm. However, did you know that before making her way to Miss Universe 2021 competition, the model featured in a popular daily soap?
Yes, you read that right. Harnaaz made her television debut with Udaariyaan. She played the role of a beauty pageant participant and was pitted against the protagonist, Jasmin (Isha Malviya), in the show. After her big win, Harnaaz shared a long note on the ‘Gram and talked about her journey. She wrote, “We did it. I said in my final answer, that I believed in myself and that’s why I was on that stage. I also want to mention a few people who believed in me too. Firstly I would like to thank my family and friends who have been there with me no matter what. They have seen me fall and get up and they have been there supporting me throughout”
Harnaaz concluded the post with, “Thank you to the @missuniverse @realpaulashugart for believing I deserved this beautiful crown and the responsibility of being called Miss Universe. Lastly thank you to everyone who has showered me with so much love. I’m overwhelmed.”
According to the grapevine, Harnaaz is in talks with several filmmakers for her Bollywood debut. She has a number of Punjabi films in her kitty already.
TBH, we cannot wait to see all the new projects Harnaaz has planned for herself. All we can say is we’re just so proud of the diva and we’re so excited to find out what she does next.
