The POTUS (President of the United States) Donald Trump finally arrived in India earlier today! Stylishly speaking, while he managed to grab some attention with his yellow tie, it was the FLOTUS (First Lady of the United States) Melania Trump who turned out to be the real head-turner for us, clad in her pristine white jumpsuit. Apt for the soaring Ahmedabad temperatures, the jumpsuit by Atelier Caito for Herve Pierre made her look like an absolute vision as the crème crêpe of the ensemble flattered her frame.
However, the highlight of the attire was the green silk belt that cinched the relaxed silhouette of Melania’s jumpsuit and added a touch of colour to the otherwise all-white outfit. More importantly, the gold weaves of the belt provided with a quintessential Indian appeal, thus making it just apt for the occasion.
Retrieved from vintage Indian textile documents, the fabric of the belt has a rich story behind it. The designer got hold of it through a collector friend from Paris and it is actually the border from the original fabric that has been used to carve the belt. Fascinating, isn’t it?

Ivanka went more sustainable with her sartorial choice as she decided to repeat a rather chic floral dress that she first wore on her visit to Argentina (2019). The red and white Proenza Schouler dress appeared every bit breezy as Ivanka sashayed in her characteristic style. The 38-year-old went for striking red pumps to complete her look and we’d be lying if say we aren’t hooked.
