Malaika Arora seems to have inspired the internet’s ire yet again. This time, it is for her neon outfit. It all started after the actress was spotted in a standout tracksuit yesterday. It wasn’t long before the trolls started calling her “chapri (tacky)” and making snide comments about her look. From Malaika’s age to her gait, they had a hot take on everything.
However, we tend to think differently of Malaika’s recent fashion look. We admire it, in fact. Here’s why:

Malaika Arora received a special parcel from designer Mandira Wirk yesterday. It contained a custom-made tracksuit for the actress that she seemed to be particularly excited about. She expressed the same on her Instagram story by talking about her love for neon and then also shared a picture wearing the vibrant fit. It comprised flared, drawstrings trousers and a matching cropped jacket. Malaika aptly finished off her look with a pink baseball cap and gave us intense Y2K feels.
The internet, however, was not too pleased. The trolls launched an instant attack on her look and started calling her “aunty”.
Perhaps it’s time that we break it to these trolls that they have failed to receive this season’s fashion memo. The hatemongers can love it or not but the 2000s fashion trends are back with a bang. Fashion girls across the globe are embracing them at the moment and those who haven’t caught the drift, do not know the F of fashion. In fact, something sporadic is happening in the fashion scene right now. If anyone ever wanted to see the 20-year fashion rule in action, this is a great time. It literally feels like the 2000s all over again and we are here for the nostalgia and exuberant fashion. Plus, it is thrilling to notice that it is not just the millennials who are jumping on the Y2K bandwagon. Fashion girls who aced the Y2K fashion aesthetics back in the day, are doing it all over again. Malaika Arora is one of them and we say this sans an iota of doubt that she has killed it with her neon look from yesterday.
That said, at this point we are convinced the internet just needs a reason to troll Malaika. Good that she does not give two hoots and continues to be the queen that she is. We stan!
