You know what’s the one thing that I do when am feeling blue? Watch a Bollywood movie. Trust me, it’s the best pick-me-up of all times. It instantly uplifts my mood and puts me in a better place. Come to think of it, there seems to be a Bollywood movie for every emotion and stage in life. Whether you’re exploring a new relationship or starting a new job or dealing with old friendships, Bollywood’s got your back.
I mean sure, we do have some pretty messed up unrealistic films but at the same time, you can’t avoid some of these great ones that give you some much-needed inspo. So if you’ve been feeling a little lost lately or are looking for some motivation, you should check out these movies that will leave you feeling positive about life. Go ahead, keep scrolling!
Chhichhore
You know how we all talk about our success plans? But do we ever talk about how to deal with failures? That’s exactly what Chhichhore sheds light on. The movie very beautifully conveys the message that it’s okay to fail at times. Failing is inevitable in life. You gotta brush it off and move on with your plans. The mantra of the movie is that results don’t define the journey, effort does. So do your thing, give your all and stop taking the results so seriously. If you’ve been feeling pressured at school or at your new job, then we highly recommend you to watch this film ASAP.
Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara
This is gotta be one of the best Bollywood movies ever. Apart from the amazing star cast and the brilliant travel locations, the movie gives you great pointers on life. It encourages you to pause and realise how good your life is despite all the hardships. It also teaches you the importance of friendship. I mean what would we do without our bunch of friends, right? Oh, that’s not all, ZNMD also pushes you to get past your comfort zone, try new things and live a little. If you ask me, this movie is the entire package!
Jab We Met
Sure, the plot of Jab We Met seems a bit too far-stretched but it does teach you a thing or two about life. I mean we could all do well by listening to Geet’s advice on taking it easy in life. Jo hona hai woh hona hi hai, right? So it’s best to just chill a bit. Oh also, don’t forget to love yourself before loving someone else. Repeat after me- main apni favourite hoon.
Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani
Move past the gorgeous clothes and amazing locations and you’ll understand what the makers of YJHD were trying to tell us. Bunny teaches you to embrace your inner self instead of trying hard to fit in. And Naina teaches you that it’s pointless to run behind every good thing in life when you could enjoy where you are at the moment. And of course, the film makes you realise how important it is to stay in touch with your friends no matter how busy you are. Makes total sense, TBH.
3 Idiots
Where do we even start with this movie? Raju, Farhan and Rancho did an excellent job trying to teach us the importance of following one’s dreams. The trio also taught us that passion is the key ingredient to success. They made us laugh and cry and also reminded us how important it is to hold our friends close to us.
Dangal
If there’s a movie that’s both inspiring and entertaining, then it’s gotta be Dangal for sure. The first half teaches you to stop listening to what society has to say and just do your own thing. The second part teaches you that losing is an inevitable part of life but that doesn’t mean that you quit. Try until you succeed, remember? Def a wholesome movie to watch. We have a few more Bollywood movies in mind but we’ll save them for the next list.
