These Five Celebrities Have Been Confirmed For Bigg Boss 15 But Are We Really Ready For Them Yet?

The much-awaited Bigg Boss 15 launch event happened last evening and some interesting announcements were made. For starters, this is set to be the longest-running BB season to date and might air for five whole months. Also, the theme is ‘jungle’ and things are gonna get wilder. “Bigg Boss is in the mood to make life hell for them [contestants] with very few facilities,” Salman has revealed. With more intense tasks and punishments this year, it is literally going to be about the survival of the fittest. That’s exactly why we have mixed feelings about some of the contestants that have been confirmed for the show. Yes, we already know the names of five people who will enter the Bigg Boss 15 house.

It was announced during the BB launch even yesterday that actress Donal Bisht and Umar Riaz would be entering the BB house super soon. That said, it is the rest of the names that have us a little confused. While Pratik Sehajpal has long been confirmed for the show, Shamita Shetty and Nishant Bhat have now agreed to enter the BB 15 house as well. Additionally, Raqesh Bapat has shared that he too has been approached for the show and is currently considering the offer. Well, that’s literally the top 5 of BB OTT contestants minus winner Divya Agarwal and we are a little torn on the call. Here’s why:

What’s The Sense?

Twitter

Commenting on all the questions regarding Divya Agarwal entering the BB 15 house, Varun Sood recently took to Twitter and wrote, “Why would she [Divya] compete with people who she has already defeated?” This actually makes a lot of sense. Apart from Pratik Sehajpal’s actual standing in terms of the voting tally, we clearly know the hierarchy here. We know who gets more votes and who enjoys ample support from the audience. It has been just a week since Bigg Boss OTT’s finale and it would be rather delusional for anyone to think that a lot has changed since then. Long things short, this looks like a futile exercise to us. Why are we making all the BB OTT finalists compete against each other when we know exactly how it ends?

Plus, Shamita is actually the “cribbity crabbity” person that Raqesh took her to be and we aren’t sure if we’d enjoy watching her sulk (and do the bare minimum) for what’s being called the longest BB season ever. We aren’t too excited about Pratik’s entry either and think he managed to irritate us enough in BB OTT to last a lifetime.

The Silver Lining

Twitter

Nishant was the only BB OTT contestant that we wanted in season 15 and it is rather exciting to see that becoming a reality. With his rib-tickling antics and cunning gameplay, Nishant is the ideal Bigg Boss player. He is also passionate about the show and that’s apparent. Meanwhile, Umar has us equally excited. We have already seen him in Bigg Boss 13 during the family round, where he came to cheer for his brother Asim Riaz and left everyone impressed with his calm demeanour and good looks. It would be interesting to compare his journey with that of Asim’s and see if he can manage to bring the same energy to the house.

Lastly, strange as it might sound, a lot rides on Raqesh’s entry in the Bigg Boss 15 house right now. It is his and Shamita’s love story that can serve as the only saving grace for the former. As for Pratik, we are afraid that there’s no redemption. We didn’t want to see him in BB OTT and we don’t want to see him BB 15 either!
