Yesss, it is a fun and rewarding job and I often read stories that are just heartwarmingly beautiful. However, I rarely stumble upon wedding pictures so moving that I cannot help but smile ear to ear. Guess what? Today is that day.
In light of the pride month, same-sex couple Sarika Modi and her partner Gera’s wedding pictures are currently going viral on social media. And we can’t help but wonder why it didn’t happen sooner. That is because the pictures are just too precious and would have you dreaming of an intimate, rustic ceremony for sure. Here is everything that we are loving about this beautiful couple and their gorgeous wedding ceremony:
Sarika & Gera’s Gorgeous Country-Style Wedding
Sarika and Gera tied the knot six months ago in a country-style ceremony in America. Pictures from the wedding are currently all over our timeline and we cannot help but look at them in absolute awe. In the pictures, Sarika can be seen dressed in a white satin gown with a unique boat neck that plunges at the back. She finished off the look with a trailing lace veil. Our favourite detail here? It has to be her henna-covered hands that stand in beautiful contrast with the entire look.
Gera, on the other hand, opted for a more daring look. She can be seen in a garnet silk jumpsuit featuring a plunging neckline and has finished it off with red choora. It is just beautiful to see how the two looks are coming together in the picture. If one is all about understated classics and nude lips the other is all about risque, statement appeal and a ruby lippie. Well, weren’t we told that opposites attract?
Now, as beautiful as this couple looks, it is also the details of their wedding ceremony that are making us go all “awwww” here. The two actually ditched the traditional pheras and went for just four of them around their unity candles to seal the deal. “While we did not do the traditional pheras completely, we did walk four times around our unity candle and you can see the smile on both of our faces as we completed our circles and made our commitments to each other,” shared Sarika.
Currently, the couple is overwhelmed with all the love that they have been receiving during Pride month. Speaking about the same, Gera shares, “I’m so blown away by the amount of love and support we’ve received from people all over the world as photos of our wedding have been shared during this first week of Pride month. We’ve received so many messages of love and support. Messages from folks thanking us for being visible. Messages from people who have recently been able to come out, and from people looking for the courage to come out in their own communities.”
She adds, “But we’ve also received comments and messages that range from curious and uninformed to hateful and mean. We are so lucky to have the support of our own friends, family, and chosen family, but that’s not the case for everyone and the messages we’ve received just remind us why it’s not safe for some people to come out yet. If you are a new follower and you are feeling scared of hostility in your community, we hope you know that you are not alone and we see you💜💜”
