Last week we lived the best of our fashion girl lives covering the first physical edition of FDCI X Lakme Fashion Week since 2020. It was exhilarating and exhausting. Exhilarating because nothing compares with that FROW high. Exhausting because we have been tirelessly keeping an eye on the most standout looks. Well, the moment of truth has finally arrived now that the fashion week has come to an end. We have seen all that the designers had to offer and have made a list of the top 17 styles that are sure to live in our hearts rent-free for weeks to come. Scroll through for some sartorial serotonin:
Geometrical Prints By Two Points Two Studio
With a lineup of vibrant contrasts and tailored fits, Two Points Two Studio presented a wearable and chic line at the Lakme Fashion Week. That said, it is this geometric three-piece set with the ruched belt look that stands out for us as the best one from the collection.
Relaxed Trousers By Antar-Agni
Ujjawal Dubey of Antar-Agni has yet again proved that no one manipulates fabric as well as he does and it is his power-packed arsenal of fluid pants that we are currently eyeing. Featured here are the relaxed tulip cut trousers that we really loved.
Dreamy Ruffles By Keerthi Kadire
Keerthi Kadire presented a collection of pre-wedding fits complete with floral embroidery, cupcake hues, and romantic ruffles. Top on our wishlist is this solid organza saree that featured flowery ruffles to create a dreamy vibe.
Vivid Prints By ALL
ALL-the plus size store presented a strong line of printed fabrics and breezy silhouettes. Featured here is the leaf printed full sleeves maxi looking every bit divine on Sakshi Sindwani.
Logomania By Outhouse
Outhouse designers Kaabia and Sasha Grewal presented a collection drawn from their fondest y2k memories and it instantly went viral on social media. We especially dig the symphonic mélange of colours, statement earrings, and logo bags from the brand.
Futuristic Pret By Alpana & Neeraj
Staying loyal to their futuristic aesthetics, Alpana-Neeraj gave us a collection comprising airy ruffles and 3-D details. We love the protruding bodice on this dress and how it has been skillfully balanced with ample ruffles.
Neat, See-Through Separates By Varun Bahl
From appliqué embellishments to draped skirts, Varun Bahl’s LFW collection had something in store for everyone. However, it was the neat, flouncy lehenga look that stood out for us. We admire the minimal embellishments and the skillful handling of the fabric.
Printed Layers By Payal Pratap
Designer Payal Pratap collaborated with Japanese brand Bemberg™ to give us an environment-friendly collection made with biodegradable materials. The line oozed simplicity and elegance and featured a lot of print on print looks. Our top favourite is this floral jacket and block print layering.
Minimal Lehengas By Anju Modi
Anju Modi stayed loyal to her love for the classic red-white-gold palette while giving us an understated albeit glorious lehenga look. It comprised a solid red skirt, a foil print blouse, and a white and gold saree which was styled like a dupatta.
Embroidered Capes & Jackets By Shruti Sancheti
Shruti Sancheti went back to her Shekhawati roots to give us a collection steeped in culture and tradition. She took inspiration from the exquisite architecture of the region and presented tailored jackets dipped in rich hues and embellished with decked embroideries.
Floral Appliqués By Pankaj & Nidhi
Designer duo Pankaj and Nidhi played on their aesthetic strength to give us a dreamy collection complete with appliqué accents, gossamer fabrics, and juicy hues. Featured here is a statement jacket with balloon sleeves and oriented tailored shorts.
Ombré Pants By Shivan & Narresh
Definitely copping these Ombré pants from Shivan and Narresh’s men’s wear line this season.
Tie-On Sleeves By Siddharth Bansal
Siddharth Bansal’s show-stopping look also happens to be our favourite from the collection. We dig the entire tie-on sleeves with the festive wear vibe.
Multi-Coloured Sequins By Manish Malhotra
Last year, Manish Malhotra gave us ombré embellishments, this year he took it a notch higher with multi-coloured sequins. We love the halter neck bodycon gown dipped in a smattering of violet, indigo, and black sequins.
Red Hot Party Fits By Suneet Varma X Bata
In one of the most fun shows this season, Suneet Verma in collaboration with Bata presented a line of party wear picks that relied heavily on bedazzling reds. We love this corsetry-inspired lace top and fringed skirt pairing.
Printed Lehengas By Aisha Rao
Our biggest takeaway from the LFW 2022 spring summer collection? We can bid adieu to heavily decked lehengas for the entire season and invest in lighter picks. This printed, whimsical lehenga by Aisha Rao is a fitting illustration.
Clothing Made Of Agricultural Waste By Divyam Mehta
Sustainability will never not be in vogue and we are currently eyeing Divyam Mehta’s latest collection featuring clothing made from agricultural waste. The line looks at forested landscapes as it takes inspiration from pastoral tribes & their ways of life.
Tell us fam, which one of these steller looks did you like the best?
