The future for skincare looks bright. Every day, new inventions are born. In this case, it’s sunscreen. Skip makeup if you must, but don’t step out of your home without wearing sunscreen. It not only protects your skin from the UV rays but also prevents premature ageing. I love all the things sunscreen stands for, however, just not the colour. Most sunscreens today have a milky-white colour and a thick texture. Some leave behind a white cast and others take forever to blend into the skin. But guess what, all that is going to change this coming Thursday. Simply because beauty mogul, Kylie Jenner, is launching a new sunscreen and it’s crystal clear!
At first glance, you’ll fall in love with the minimal, clean packaging. The product comes in a basic white tube decorated with baby pink font. This is how it looks!
According to Kylie Skin, the Broad Spectrum SPF 40 Face Sunscreen can be used to protect the skin from the sun, moisturise dry skin and serve as the perfect primer for your makeup.
A few of Kylie’s friends have already tried the product and are all praise for it on Instagram. They love that it’s transparent in colour, doesn’t feel greasy or heavy on the skin, offers intense hydration and is completely fragrance-free. Jenner also posted a tiny infographic about the product and its superpowers.
All that is great, but is it really reef-safe as it claims to be? A detailed list of ingredients is not out as yet. Guess we’ll have to wait for the product to launch on Kylieskin.com to find out. The product looks amazing so far!
However, the transparent colour is not new among sunscreens. Some brands already have launched them, but they haven’t officially made their way to India as yet (But you can still buy them from other websites that ship to India).
Weightless, invisible and scentless. Can also be used as a primer (Similar to Kylie Skin’s Broad Spectrum SPF 40). Agrees with dry, combination, oily and normal skin types. Has a gel-like texture that helps to blur fine lines, wrinkles and large pores. Contains meadowfoam seed, red algae and frankincense. Not only is it a vegan product, but it’s also reef-safe, cruelty-safe and gluten-free. Oh, and it’s one of those few sunscreens that protect the skin from blue light.
Another environmental-friendly sunscreen that’s in the form of a translucent gel. It’s packed with Vitamin C, Vitamin E and Ferulic Acid. The product melts into the skin and leaves a velvety matte finish.
A non-comedogenic water-gel formula sunscreen that’s super lightweight and non-greasy. It’s also a vegan and cruelty-free product that prevents sun damage and skin cancer.
My point is, Kylie Skin’s Broad Spectrum SPF 40 is not the first of its kind, however, is the future of many more such amazing sunscreen products to come into the market. We can’t wait for it to launch on the 9th of July.
