The India Couture Week is all that the fashion gworls can currently talk about and for good reason! This time around, the fashion week is turning 16 years old and is all set to present 16 artistic showcases by renowned couturiers. On day 6, Anamika Khanna unveiled her new collection that was modern, stylish yet had nuances of the past. The whole collection was about love and boasted a rich amalgamation of silver and gold metallics, emeralds, pearls, pastel hues, and the timeless elegance of ivory and black. The designer chose Athiya Shetty as the showstopper and the actress killed it on the ramp!
Athiya, who has been Anamika’s muse quite a few times, turned out to be one of the best showstoppers of the Couture Week! She graced the ramp in a beige floor-length dress by the Kolkata-based designer. The ensemble featured elaborate 3D applique work, beautiful florals, pearls, threadwork, and a daring thigh-high slit. A stunning necklace completed the look, adding to the overall glitz. The actress’ straight model face and flawless walk proved that she is made for the runway! Athiya could literally give the models a run for their money.
While many in the audience were in awe of Athiya’s look, her husband, cricketer KL Rahul, couldn’t resist expressing his admiration on social media. KL Rahul shared a video of his gorgeous wife walking the ramp, captioning it, “My stunning wife ❤️ @athiyashetty.” Athiya responded to Rahul’s lovely post. She reposted the video on her Instagram and wrote, “My whole heart ❤️❤️.” #HusbandGoals, am I right?
Even Athiya’s father, Suniel Shetty, shared the clip of his daughter’s ramp walk and called her ‘our desi Gigi, Bella, Kendall.’ Totes adorbs!
When Athiya Chose Anamika Khanna For Her Wedding
Athiya Shetty and Anamika Khanna truly share a special bond. Apart from flaunting the designer’s creations multiple times, Athiya even trusted Anamika with her wedding outfit! She set the bridal mood board for 2023 and made a one-of-a-kind soft bride in a rose pink chikankari lehenga. The custom-made bridal outfit took 10,000 hours of hard work, and perfectly captured Athiya Shetty’s demeanour.
Talking about the outfit in an interview, Anamika revealed that her inspiration behind creating the piece was Athiya herself. “Athiya’s got extremely fine, subtle, and beautiful taste. I wanted to develop something special for her that resonated with the fact that she was going to be the bride, but she was never going to be that bride for whom everything else takes over. She has a very strong personality, and I think she’s acutely aware of it.” Anamika added, “Nothing is screaming for attention [with the lehenga], and yet, it’s just so her. Safe to say that it is not an outfit she will get bored of even in the coming years.”
