The dating rumours of actress Athiya Shetty and cricketer KL Rahul have been doing the rounds for quite a while now. Yes, neither of them have made their relationship official yet, but there’s no smoke without fire, right? Their social media PDA and the appearances they’ve made together in the pre-Covid era are proof enough that there might be some truth to the ongoing rumours. On Thursday, Athiya turned 28 and while many of the actress’ friends wished her on her birthday, one message that stood out was from KL Rahul.
Rahul, who is currently in Dubai for the Indian Premier League 2020, shared an adorable picture of the two together, and captioned it, “Happy birthday, mad child.” In the picture, the two can be seen sitting side by side and their sun-kissed selfie is all things love. Take a look!

The cricketer also posted some of Athiya’s pictures on his Instagram story. One of the photos is from the actress’ childhood and wrote, “Where’s the cake?” Soon after the photo, Rahul shared a photo of the birthday girl. In the picture, Athiya can be seen posing for the camera with the cake in her hands, pretending to bite into it. Rahul captioned this one as, “I think she is happy.”

Reportedly, Athiya is in Dubai with her alleged boyfriend and took to her Instagram handle to post pictures from her birthday celebration. She wrote, “Counting all my blessings and so grateful for the love, thank you so much, my heart’s full!” Well, we must say, the birthday girl is glowing!
Earlier this year, on Rahul’s birthday, Athiya shared a loved up picture and wrote, “Happy birthday, my person.”

For those who don’t know, it was fashion designer Vikram Phadnavis, who added fuel to the fire. In August 2019, he dropped a comment on one of Athiya’s Instagram posts that hinted at her relationship with Rahul. He wrote, “You seem to be very hyper and excited these days? Let’s go to KL? Kuala Lumpur.” To which Athiya replied, “Time to block you.” Vikram, then, commented, “I will complain to the UMPIRE! And once your WICKET is gone…it’s back to the pavilion!” Even though he later deleted the comment, everybody got the hint.
Athiya and KL Rahul even rang in the New Year together in Thailand and some pictures with their friends including Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, Anushka Ranjan and her boyfriend Aditya Seal, surfaced on the internet.
In January this year, Athiya’s father Suniel Shetty spilled the beans about his kids’ love lives. He said, “I love Ahan’s girlfriend (Tania Shroff) and I love who Athiya is seeing. I do not have a problem with that, Mana (Suniel Shetty’s wife) doesn’t have a problem with that and they are happy.”
