One of my favourite shows to watch when I’m folding my laundry is The Kardashians. No plot, no twists, just rich girl vibes, and a lifestyle I’m incredibly envious of. It’s easy to watch, often entertaining and there are a lot of things from the show that make for a good story.
I just love the fact that all the sisters seem to have their own million-dollar businesses. The main one I’m interested in is the KKW line. From Skims to KKW fragrances, every product seems to have nothing but rave reviews online. But what if I told you that despite this, Kim K’s favourite fragrance isn’t from her own line?
Kim may have discontinued her fragrance line when she removed the ‘West’ from her name, but she’s still raved about this one other pick and made it her go-to.
The Tom Ford Black Orchid For Women is a rich, well-rounded aroma that features notes of orchids, French jasmine, black truffle, ylang-ylang, black currant, and citrus. It also has notes of patchouli and sandalwood with a little dark chocolate treat on the side. The scent also imparts notes of incense and amber, a touch of earthy vetiver, sweet vanilla, and that comforting hug of balsam. The complex and elegant aroma mirrors her public persona – full of layers you can’t wait to explore.
5 Dupes That Won’t Break The Bank – As Much As This One At Least!
The first scent is just a body spray version of the Eau De Parfum version, and significantly cheaper. It’s light, cooling and sports the exact same fragrance notes but in a refreshingly light way. You can layer this over other perfumes or wear it on its own. It also makes for a lovely gift this festive season!
Next on the list, I wanted to include something that emulated the scent and the vibe of the Tom Ford perfume. Something that was sexy, and long-lasting yet wouldn’t leave you bankrupt. The Victoria’s Secret Very Sexy Orchid Rollerball is a good, travel-friendly option with notes of blackcurrant, orris wood and patchouli. It’s a deep, warm fragrance that makes for a perfect addition to your autumn fragrance wardrobe.
I feel like I always find an excuse to add an Elizabeth Arden product to any list, but the Elizabeth Arden White Tea Vanilla Orchid Eau De Toilette Spray is genuinely a personal favourite of mine. This is a significantly light scent that smells like a wonderful spring day with notes of lemon and quince, an absolute treat for the senses. It does have a hint of vanilla orchid but is not nearly as deep as the Tom Ford one.
Now we all know Zara makes amazing dupes with intricate and long-lasting flavour profiles at remarkable prices. The Zara Orchid Eau De Parfum is fresh and clear with notes of rose, orchids, and lily of the valley along with peach and apple. The scent gets its depth from additional notes of musk, wood, and amber, giving it the same sensuality and charm in Tom Ford.
Lastly, from a perfumery in India, we’ve got the EM5™Orchid Perfume for Women which is actually inspired by the Tom Ford Orchid Perfume. It’s as deep and seductive as the Tom Ford version without the hefty price tag – the top notes are similar – truffle, gardenia, and ylang-ylang while the middle notes sport orchid, gardenia and jasmine. Out of all the perfumes on the list, this one comes closest to the original Tom Ford.
Each scent tells a story yet much like each episode of The Kardashians, they are quite similar – with a few differences that keep things fresh!
