Kiara Advani may have set bride goals with her wedding but it’s her skin I’m obsessed with. The Shershaah actress looks radiant whether she’s jet-setting off to a new location or hitting the red carpet. The healthy flush of her cheeks and no blemishes might be courtesy of a healthy drink she’s been sipping on to keep herself cool in the summer.

Either way, I’m here for it.

Kiara Is ‘Beet’ing The Heat With This Drink

Kiara recently shared a picture of her red summer drink to her Instagram stories and captioned it ‘Beet the heat’. While beetroot is considered a winter vegetable by many, it also doubles as a great ingredient for summer.

How Beetroot Benefits The Skin

Fades dark spots and scars

Rich in Vitamin C, the veggie helps reduce the formation of melanin, combating hyperpigmentation. It also boosts collagen production and aids in repairing the skin faster.

Slows down signs of ageing

The antioxidant-rich vegetable helps delay the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while maintaining the skin’s elasticity.

Removes a tan

Since it contains both antioxidants and vitamin C, beetroots help in fading away pigmentation and are therefore great for tan removal.

A natural cheek and lip tint

Thanks to its bright red natural colour, beetroot is excellent for adding a splash of colour to the cheeks and lips. It is a great alternative for those who prefer using chemical-free products.

Beetroot Juice Recipes

While we don’t know Kiara’s exact recipe, here are 3 basic beetroot skin smoothies to get you started.

1.The Summer Cooler

You’ll need: Beetroot, lemon, mint leaves and a carrot.

Wash all the vegetables well, peel them and throw the beetroot, a handful of mint leaves and a chopped-up carrot into the mixer. Blend it till it forms a liquid consistency with no chunks. Once the juice is ready, add a few drops of lemon juice to it. Strain it (if you aren’t a fan of pulp) and then pour it into a glass or bottle.

2. ABC Juice

You’ll need: Apple, Beetroot, carrot and a dash of honey.

If you’re not a fan of raw beetroot and I don’t blame you, here’s a recipe that makes the taste a bit more palatable. Chop up one apple, beetroot and carrot and add some honey to the blender. Both apple and honey lend some sweetness to the drink. Since this has apple in it, it can double up as your breakfast smoothie. too!

3. The Summer Detox

You’ll need: Beetroot, cucumber, apple, carrot, lemon, ginger and celery.

Cucumber and celery help in cooling the body and are also the perfect detox ingredients. Wash all the fruits and veggies, slice them up well and toss them into a blender. Make sure the ginger is not more than 1/2 inch. Blend it, strain it and add it to a glass. Squeeze a few drops of lemon juice into it to add a dash of tanginess to the juice.
