The Kerastase Elixir Ultime L’Huile Originale Serum Has No Right To Be As Good As It Is

The Kerastase Elixir Ultime L’Huile Originale Serum has stood the test of time. The cult-favourite product promises to transform your hair while giving it a glossy and smooth look. But does it live up to its promises?

    What Is It

A shine-enhancing serum for all hair types, the Kerastase Elixir Ultime is infused with argan, camellia, and marula oils. It is a leave-in serum that boosts nourishment and shine while keeping the hair hydrated. It also offers heat protection of up to 230 degrees and has a slight fragrance and a non-greasy feeling.

    Our Thoughts

One of my constant struggles is frizzy hair. Thanks to tight hairstyles at the gym, chlorine water from the swimming pool, and over-styling with hot tools, my hair breaks easily and is dry and rough no matter how many shampoos and conditioners I use. Hair serums have been a part of my haircare routine for as long as I remember and they’ve all done a decent job of nourishing my strands.

Enter, the Kerastase Elixir Ultime serum. Not gonna lie; its luxe packaging is what attracted me to it first. The glass bottle with a liquid gold formula inside looked and felt expensive. Once pumped out, the serum feels almost like an oil in your palms. It’s thick and looks heavy. But don’t be too quick to judge because once you apply it to the lengths of your hair, it’s surprising how easily all of it is absorbed – almost as if your hair is quenching its thirst! Once applied, it feels lightweight, doesn’t weigh the hair down and makes your hair soft to the touch. I feel the difference almost instantly. It is a one-stop solution to all my hair concerns.

The only drawback? It’s price. I’m on my second bottle right now and feel the pinch in my bank account when I see quite a few other products match the formula and results at a fraction of the price.

    How To Use It

I have medium-length hair that requires around 2 pumps of the serum. I apply it to my hair when it’s damp, starting from the mid-lengths and working my way to the ends. After this, I allow my hair to air dry or style it with a curler or a hair dryer.

I also like to take half a pump of the serum and apply it to the tips of my hair at night to combat dryness.

    What It Looks Like

    Good To Know

    In Conclusion

If your hair needs that additional shine and you're also looking for one product that does it all, this serum is for you.
