So Festive! 15+ Times Kapoor Sisters Gave Us Some Serious Wedding Wardrobe Inspo

They are the right balance of suave and fun. Their fashion picks are always top gun. They are Bollywood’s favourite sister duo. But most importantly, if anyone was to ever make a show on wedding wear inspiration, it has to be named Keeping Up With The Kapoor Sisters because that’s how much Kareena and Karisma have inspired our wedding wardrobes over the years.

The Kapoor sisters have really helped us with tonnes of wedding wear inspiration. From Karisma’s long-standing love affair with opulent silks to Kareena’s preference for all things breezy, theirs is a wedding wardrobe that we want to raid, steal, and actually live in. Seriously, we kid you not, and to prove that, here are 16 times that they gave some serious shaadi wear inspo:

Breezy Outfits For Pre-Wedding Festivities

From Kareena’s breezy sarees to Karisma’s luxurious silk sets, the Kapoor sisters carry a little bit of wedding wear inspo no matter where they go. While the two sisters’ styles might not be exactly similar, both of them do share a love for vibrant colours and rich fabrics, which readily makes up for the pre-wedding festivities dress up.

Take for instance this turmeric Payal Khadwala kurta and skirt set that we think would make for the perfect outfit choice for a jazzy mehendi or a haldi function. See how the Banarasi kurta set has been paired with a plain organza monotone dupatta? Love!

Alternatively, you can also put on a light saree in breezy fabrics like georgette or chiffon, go for a contrasting blouse for the perfect festive feels, and throw in some traditional danglers to complete the look like Kareena in this House of Masaba saree. This would make for a great outfit for a pre-wedding function:

However, in case you are going to a low-key, intimate event then might we suggest something like this wine and ivory Payal Pratap set? The A-line kurta is as comfy as it gets and we love how Karisma has added a light choker for just the right amount of festive touch to the outfit. Also, we will never not love the classic combination of salwar and juttis!

That said, we totally approve of this personalised saree by Picchika. The opulence of organza, the luxury of hand-painted details, the gota accents: what’s not to like?

Sangeet Scenes

Practicality infused with an element of fun is what comes to our mind when we think of the perfect sangeet outfit and we gotta give it to the Kapoor sisters for always keeping us covered in the department. We will start with this long jacket and skirt set that Karisma was spotted wearing at her cousin Armaan Jain’s post-wedding sangeet

This is a gorgeous outfit, very handy when it comes to dancing, and can easily be recreated with your choice of jacket fabric and silhouette:

We also have our eyes on this turquoise and indigo lehenga by Good Earth India. Instead of embellished heavy work, the lehenga is printed (thus lightweight) and comes with ample flounce. This is a great choice to dance your night away without being weighed down by a cumbersome skirt:

But should we limit our sangeet choices to just skirts and lehengas when a sequinned, shimmer saree does the task equally well? That said we’ll leave it to you to choose between Kareena’s peach saree and Karisma’s black one:

Karisma Kapoor’s Sabyasachi looks from Sonam Kapoor’s wedding inspired a lot of wedding looks to follow and we can totally see why:

Cocktail Divas

From all that we know about the Kapoor sisters’ style, one thing can be said for sure: the two never say no to anything glitter and sequins and that’s exactly why it’s a must that we take some cocktail outfit inspo from them.

Also, while we might call Karisma the authority on all things saree, the glam gowns and all that jazz department surely belongs to Junior Kapoor. Look at how effortlessly glam Kareena looks in this Michael Costello dress. Also, love how beautifully the exaggerated bell sleeves complement the thigh-high slit of this garment.

And speaking of thigh-high slits, this embellished magenta beauty with its full sleeves and the gorgeous silhouette is on our radar too:

Now just in case you feel like the queen of the world (we know Bebo does) and are in the mood of expressing just that, we recommended you check out this Amit Aggarwal gown and its 3D details that will instantly pull all eyes to you:

D-Day Glam

Well, the wedding day is when you go all out with your outfits and thanks to all the recent shaadis in the Kapoor khandaan, both Kareena and Karisma have ample inspiration to help us with.

We can perhaps start with this beige gharara set on Kareena and all the Nawabi vibes that it’s exuding. When it comes to Indian clothing, beige and grey are certainly not the first colours that come to mind and yet Kareena is making them work together here. Right from the gota patti work to the tasseled edges of her kurta, every single detail needs a separate mention. However, it is the antique choker with its emerald green stones that’s really doing it for us:

Now while Kareena might be the queen of all things gharara and shararas, when it comes to the saree game, it has to be the senior Kapoor sister who really tickles our fancy with her A+ wardrobe game. That said, this Raw Mango saree and jacket pairing has to be our all-time favourite. The brocade jacket is of course the star here and the way it’s green lining beautifully compliments Karisma’s red saree is the kind of fashion detail that sartorial poetry is made of:

Notice how radiant Karisma looks in this pic? Here’s how to recreate the look:

Looking for a slightly more traditional saree inspo? This solid red saree with its gold border should really do it for you. Oh also, don’t miss out on the heavy jhumkas and statement blouse:

Attending a day wedding? You need to check out this Manish Malhotra lehenga and its mirror work. Also, totally eyeing Bebo’s flawless style and how she has styled her dupatta like a cape here. So novel, so chic!
