Yesterday, on May 25, Karan Johar celebrated his 48th birthday. Bollywood’s flamboyant director believes in celebrating every occasion to the hilt. But this year his birthday was limited to cake-cutting at his residence with cuties Yash and Roohi and his mom. However, along with his birthday video, the director also shared an announcement on his social media. Two house helps at KJo’s residence have been tested positive for COVID-19. KJo wrote that “as soon as their symptoms were detected, they were put under quarantine” in a section of the building where he resides.
The director also ensured that the rest of the staff and family have already taken swab tests for the virus and have tested negative. However, the family and the staff will remain in self-isolation for the next 14 days. Here’s what he shared:

In his update, KJo also shared that the family would strictly follow the precautionary measures prescribed by the authorities. And the family would be taking care of the treatment for the two house helps. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has already sanitised and fumigated the building.
Karan shared a glimpse of his birthday celebrations on Instagram. Little Yash and Roohi didn’t allow ‘dada’ to eat his own birthday cake. ICYMI, here’s the video:
A couple of weeks ago three house helps from Janhvi Kapoor’s residence tested positive for COVID-19. Janhvi had shared her father’s statement on social media, “Yes, the house help was tested positive and we are taking all the precautionary measures though myself, my children and the other staff at home, none of us are showing any symptoms as of now. BMC and the government authorities have been prompt and very helpful. We will do as told by them.”
The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in India has reached 139K. Out of these, 50,231 people in Maharashtra have been tested positive for coronavirus. A few weeks ago Maharashtra government decided to extend the lockdown in hotspot areas like Mumbai, Pune, Malegaon, Aurangabad and Solapur until May 31.
Well, we hope that Johars remain safe and healthy.
