Jennifer Aniston In Manish Malhotra Reminds Me Of All The Times Hollywood Chose Indian Designers!

As someone whose go-to show has long been FRIENDS, I still get excited whenever a cast member appears on my feed. But I’ve got to say that Rachel Green is my absolute fave, and honestly, do I need to explain why? She’s sassy, beautiful, the ultimate fashionista, and above all, she’s Jennifer Aniston!

So when I came across the trailer for her Netflix film, Murder Mystery 2, I couldn’t contain my excitement. For a wedding sequence, the actress wore a stunning ivory lehenga designed by Bollywood’s favourite, Manish Malhotra!

Stylist Debra McGuire kept her accessories simple to highlight the outfit and Jen’s natural glow. Her look was completed with nude lipstick, kohl-rimmed eyes, and a low bun decked with delicate flowers.

Love Jennifer’s nude lipstick? Here’s my pick from Manish Malhotra’s makeup collection:

Seeing Jennifer in MM was super exciting for me, considering it’s a collab between my two favourites. It also reminded me of all the other times Hollywood stars wore Indian designers. Take a look:

Sarah Jessica Parker in Falguni Shane Peacock

Instagram

While shooting for And Just Like That, which is a reboot of Sex and the City, Sarah Jessica Parker wore an outfit designed by Falguni Shane Peacock. The lehenga was handcrafted with intricate embroidery and I loved the contrasting navy-blue corset blouse. However, it was Sarah’s eccentric floral hairdo that stole the show!

Ashley Park in Rahul Mishra

Rahul Mishra showcased his new collection at Paris Couture Week 2023 and Ashley Park aka Mindy Chen arrived wearing a stunning creation by the Indian designer. She donned a gold backless gown featuring his signature 3D embroidery and I loved the excess of gold and silver sequins!

While Emily Cooper’s fashion looks have received a lot of attention, her best friend Mindy Chen, played by Ashley Park, also delivered some spectacular looks. In one of scenes from season 2, Ashley was spotted in a bold red jacket from House of Masaba that she layered over her chic printed nightwear. The chicest loungewear I’ve ever seen!

Cardi B in Gaurav Gupta

Instagram

Cardi B wore a custom Gaurav Gupta gown in the music video of her hit song, No Love. The neutral organza ensemble was created to match her skin tone and the artwork was tailored to her body shape and size. Definitely, a look that will be remembered for a long time!

Megan Thee Stallion in Gaurav Gupta

Instagram

Not only Cardi B, but rapper Megan Thee Stallion too chose Gaurav Gupta to make her red carpet debut at the Oscars 2022. The custom-made gown was inspired by marine ecology and took 1500 man-hours to complete. The strapless bodice of the silver-blue gown featured a plunging sweetheart neckline. I loved the cut-out detail and the gorgeous ruffle trail!

Taylor Swift in Hemant & Nandita

Instagram

Taylor Swift made a virtual appearance at the iHeartRadio Music Awards 2021 wearing a floral cape dress by designer duo Hemant & Nandita. The outfit, with its pleats and bell sleeves, perfectly matched Taylor’s style and I loved her braided hair bun and dainty earrings.

Kim Kardashian in Sabyasachi & Anamika Khanna

Kim K stunned us all in a sexy saree by Sabyasachi Mukherjee for a magazine photoshoot in 2018. Hand-embroidered metallic sequins adorned the scarlet chiffon saree that was paired with a matching bralette. Her second look for the shoot was a lehenga by Anamika Khanna. The red ensemble included a high-waist skirt with a slit, a sleeveless choli, and a floor-length jacket. Seriously, there’s nothing Kim K cannot pull off!

Paris Hilton in Papa Don’t Preach

Instagram

Paris Hilton flew down to Mumbai to launch her new fragrance range. While promoting her brand, the star wore a red indo-western jumpsuit by Papa Don’t Preach by Shubhika. The sleeveless jumpsuit featured a V-neckline and was embellished with beads, sequins, and mirror-work. Paris added her own touch with bejewelled gloves and retro red sunnies. An icon indeed!

It’s amazing to see more and more Indian designers make their way into global wardrobes. I’m living for more such collabs!
