The annual police show in Mumbai, called Umang, was a star-studded affair. The majority of Bollywood was there – from oldies-but-goldies like Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar to young newbies like Sara Ali Khan and our favourite fashionista, Janhvi Kapoor.
It was a festive affair for the city’s policemen as explosive dance performances by Bollywood stars lit up the night. Not just with their moves, though, but also with their outfits.

Janhvi’s OOTN was one of these. The Dhadak actress brought out the big guns for her dance sequence, a custom catsuit by the celebrated designer duo Falguni & Shane Peacock. The pair is known for their on-stage ensembles across the world. Don’t believe us? Just ask J.Lo!

There’s something about their designs. They add the right kind of drama to a big stage act. Take Janhvi’s naked bodysuit… the sheer net and lace catsuit is anything but ‘naked’ though. Covered in embroidery, metallic fringe, and silver and gold sequin work, this designer catsuit wasn’t, in any aspect, ordinary.

Fun fact: Janhvi’s onesie also came with a wrap-style lehenga that buttons at the waist. As you can see, the floor-length net skirt also flaunted loads of bling in the form of metallic embroidery along with a stylish waist-high slit.
A western twist on Janhvi’s Indian-fusion look is the addition of those nude ankle-length boots. We love the combination of suede and the sheer net fabric, don’t you?

Coming to Miss Kapoor’s makeup and hair for the event – we love it. A simple yet striking hairdo, Janhvi’s crown braid and cascading loose curls looked perfect with the catsuit.
Those brown smokey-eyes and rouge lips do look f(el)ine as well. All in all, Janhvi Kapoor pulled off the catsuit like a pro, in our opinion. All that’s missing is a pair of cat ears, no?

Off-stage, the star wore a white and gold Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla Anarkali suit, featuring gota-patti work and their signature geometric embroidery.
