Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter go way back. They began their Bollywood journey together with Dhadak in 2018. Besides sharing a professional equation, the rumours suggest the duo were also dating. However, Janhvi and Ishaan decided to call it quits after the release of their film, leaving the fans disappointed.
While things didn’t work out romantically between the two actors, they are still in touch. In a recent interview with a leading daily, Janhvi opened up about the current relationship she shares with her ex, Ishaan. “I’ve seen the (Phone Bhoot) trailer and I think it looks like a lot of fun. We (Ishaan and I) had spoken briefly when he (Ishaan) was about to sign the film. I know a little bit about it, and it sounds like a very exciting premise.” she shared.
Janhvi also continued to talk about how the two have amicably moved on from the relationship. “He (Ishaan) messaged me recently wishing me luck for Mili and I wished him back saying, ‘Right back at you!’ I think there was an undercurrent of competitiveness (laughs). I’m just kidding! We really wish the best for each other dil se. We started out together. A part of us will always root for each other,” she added. Aww, isn’t that the sweetest thing you’ve read all day?
But this is not the first the Milli actress got candid about her relationship with Ishaan. In an interview with a media portal earlier this year, Janhvi addressed how the two continue to share a special bond. “We’re (Janhvi and Ishaan) so busy now in our own lives. But every time we meet, there’s a warmth. In fact, ‘Rangisari’, the song from JugJugg Jeeyo, was supposed to be in Dhadak. Every time we’d shoot montages for Dhadak, we’d play that song. So, when it came out, both of us kind of felt like it was our song. We texted each other, and he was like, ‘Did you see it?’ and I was like, ‘Yeah, it felt kind of funny,” she said.
Well, we’re happy to see Ishaan and Janhvi continue being each other’s cheerleaders. There’s something heartwarming about exes who remain friends. Isn’t it?
