J.Lo’s Rich-Girl Manicure Might Just Be The Ultimate End Of The Year Look For You

J.Lo’s Rich-Girl Manicure Might Just Be The Ultimate End Of The Year Look For You

Though the phrase ‘rich-girl’ manicure conjures up visuals of gem-encrusted, stiletto-shaped tips, J.Lo’s recent display demonstrates nothing of that sort. While the star is known to pare back on the nails, this one’s on another level altogether. It’s polished and minimal, and it doesn’t even require a trip to the salon. If you’re looking to coordinate your cold-girl aesthetic with something soft and minimal on the lacquers, you’ve got to take a look at J.Lo’s nails STAT.

J.Lo’s Nails Have Never Been This Drama-Free, Ever.

Tom Bachik dramatically reduced the pigmentation on J.Lo’s nails to an all-time low in recent weeks. Though the singer’s penchant for minimalism always comes through via Bachik’s demonstrations, he truly pared back on all fronts this time around. The nail artist whittled the star’s nails into mid-length coffin-shaped tips before drenching them in a barely-there shade of taupe. The end result is a colour that borrows from both grey and brown in different capacities. Notice how it compliments the rock-sized ring on her finger (courtesy of beau Ben Affleck).

While all-matte and ultra-glazed nails are two trends that lie on opposite ends of the nail-art spectrum, this manicure is an in-between in that it’s adequate amounts of glossy and polished. Though J.Lo sported the look on Thanksgiving, you can borrow from it for the coming year-end festivities too. Because it’s just so accessible. No over-the-top designs or embellishments. Add this to your cold-girl aesthetic ASAP.

If you’re looking for something a little more pigmented yet subtle and safe for the year-end, J.Lo’s mocha-coloured manicure is it for you. The luxe-looking colour sits decadently against the singer’s suede, neutral-toned jeans.

There’s something about the cold-weather season that lends a certain edginess to our aesthetics — something about a darker colour palette that feels much more inviting and cosy than a light-coloured manicure. The allure of browns and blacks is much more apparent during winters, and the best way to play into the aesthetic is by dipping our toes — and fingers — into intensely-pigmented splashes of colour. If that’s what you’re feeling, you can opt for the second display instead of the first one.

Are we adding any of these manis to our wishlist? Because, hey, Christmas and New Year’s are just around the corner, and it’s time to start prepping your winter nails STAT.
