Bad dialogues. Wrong casting. Luck lustre acting. Distorted facts. In the past few days, a lot of reasons have been pointed out for Adipurush’s underwhelming performance at the box office. The film might have observed a strong opening but the numbers continue to plummet and the makers are struggling to get their money’s worth out of it. The film has been made on a massive budget of Rs 500 crores and is struggling to hit even the Rs 300 crores mark. But this could have been a lot worse.
As per the latest report, Adipurush was going to be made on a budget of Rs 1000 crores. Director Om Raut had mighty plans for the movie and was even planning to release it in two different installments, just like Baahubali. Rumours suggest that Prabhas talked him out of it and insisted that Adipurush should be just one film.
Apparently, Prabhas felt that the movie could easily be covered in one part. People are lauding the actor for his wise call as a two-film franchise would have led to a bigger loss at the box office. But trying to squeeze in the entire content of Ramayana in just one film could also be the reason behind its failure.
Perhaps the film could have been better narrated had it been carefully sliced into two parts. The anticipation for the sequel could have also driven more people to the theatre. The possibilities are endless. Guess Prabhas should not have meddled with the director’s business. Recently, a video of him yelling at Om also went viral on social media and people were left wondering if it was ‘coz the actor was unhappy with Adipurush’s final cut.
Clearly, a lot has happened behind the scenes and there is a high chance that the alleged creative differences have led to the film’s failure Here’s hoping both Om and Prabhas learn from their mistakes!
