In March this year, actor Irrfan Khan spoke about his rare form of cancer and it left the country shocked and heartbroken. The actor, who has worked in commercially successful and critically acclaimed movies such as Hindi Medium and Life Of Pi, has been in London for his treatment for the past seven months. He has talked about his journey with the illness and even given us a glimpse of his life in London.
After more than six months, Irrfan Khan might be returning to India post Diwali. There were rumours going around that the actor is coming back to shoot Hindi Medium 2. His spokesperson dismissed them, but confirmed he may come back next month.
The spokesperson further also said, “The story floating about Irrfan starting Hindi Medium 2 shoot in December are all based on speculations. However, there is a possibility of him returning to India after Diwali.”
All through this ordeal, Irrfan has been positive about his journey. In June, he spoke to a tabloid about his treatment and said, “This realisation made me submit, surrender and trust, irrespective of the outcome, irrespective of where this takes me, eight months from now, or four months from now, or two years. The concerns took a back seat and started to fade and kind of went out of my mind space. For the first time, I felt what ‘freedom’ truly means. It felt like an accomplishment. As if I was tasting life for the first time, the magical side of it. My confidence in the intelligence of the cosmos became absolute. I feel as if it has entered every cell of mine. Time will tell if it stays, but that is how I feel as of now.”
The Karwaan actor in August talked about his life saying, “I’ve seen life from a completely different angle. You sit down and you see the other side and that’s fascinating. I’m engaged on a journey.”
