That’s why every time we have to shop for a grand event or maybe even a slightly important occasion, we turn to the most fancy sounding brands we’ve always aspired to own. Well, did you know that there are so many brands that we thought were foreign but are actually not? Here’s a list of 8 Indian fashion brands you ALWAYS thought to be international, when they’re actually not. These brands are fabulous and totally Indian!
1. Flying Machine
Fun fact – Flying Machine is India’s first homegrown denim brand! It really doesn’t get more Indian than this. The brand is owned by Arvind Lifestyle and was launched in 1980. How cool is that?

2. Da Milano
Yes, that’s right. This very fancy sounding brand we all want to own a bag from, is very Indian! The name can be easily mistaken for some high end Italian brand. Da Milano means “of Milan” in Italian. Thanks to our country’s fascination with foreign brands, the brand is one of the oldest and best leather accessories brand in India.

3. Van Heusen
Van Heusen is a premium fashion brand with a Dutch name. Seriously guys, that’s all that’s Dutch about this brand. Though it’s owned by an american company called PVH Group, it operates under and is licensed by Madura Fashion & Lifestyle by Aditya Birla Group in India!
