I was 13 when I caught the first glimpse of Ranbir Kapoor on my television screen. He was doing his infamous towel move in the Saawariya trailer. Over the years, I never missed an update about RK’s life and oh boy, there has been so much to follow. So, finally, after crushing over this beautiful man for years, I got a chance to see him.
Earlier this week, Ranbir arrived in Delhi with Sanjay Dutt, Karan Malhorta and Vaani Kapoor for Shamshera’s press conference and I had the perfect opportunity and an invite. After travelling for almost two hours, I was at the venue and Ranbir was….well, late! An hour later the Shamshera team arrived and amidst the uproar of whistles and claps, I saw my first crush and he looked absolutely marvellous.
RK was his finest self during the interaction. He spoke about how hard it was to shoot for Shamshera and his physical transformation before the shoot. The actor also shared that his dad Rishi Kapoor wanted him to do a massy film and he was incredibly happy when Ranbir signed Shamshera. RK shared, “My dad never liked my film choices, he would always say that why do you do films that don’t have pan India connect, why don’t you do something massy.”
Ranbir also conveyed that he was kidding about having twins with wifey Alia Bhatt and that he is actually planning to take a break for a bit. So, all of this went on for a some time and then the magical moment happened.
Out of nowhere, Ranbir made his way to the audience and clicked a few pictures. Unfortunately, I was too far away to be in the frame, and RK at once saw my cropped face in one of the pictures. Instantly he looked at me said. “Arrey aap toh dikh hi nhi rahe, mai ek aur leta hoon (You aren’t visible in the frame, wait I’ll take another one). Here’s the proof for ya’ll:
NGL, this was one of the most wholesome celebrity interactions I have ever had and RK just won my heart all over again. I only wish I could tell my 13-year-old self that the gorgeous man you see on your screen, is a straight-up sweetheart!
