Last Thursday, businessman and cricket administrator, Lalit Modi made an internet-breaking-announcement. He shared pictures with Sushmita Sen and declared that he had found true love and partner in the actress. The post, of course, went viral and the frenzy is still going strong. It is apparent that the netizens have not been able to digest that Sushmita and Lalit are together now. They have been incessantly trolling the couple and a lot of problematic things have been said. And while Lalit is being trolled for dating someone “out of his league,” Sushmita is being referred to as a “gold-digger” now.
Tired of all the negativity around her love life, Sushmita took to Instagram last evening and shared a fitting response. She called out people for making opinions about her life without knowing a thing about it or her and wrote, “Perfectly centred in my being & my conscience…I love how nature merges all its creation to experience oneness…and just how divided we are, when we break that balance. 🤗👍 It’s heartbreaking to see just how miserable & unhappy the world around us is becoming….The so called intellectuals with their idiosyncrasies….the ignorant with their cheap & at times funny gossip 😊 The friends I never had & the acquaintances I’ve never met….all sharing their grand opinions & deep knowledge of my life & character…monetising the ‘Gold Digger’ all the way!!!”
The actress often talks about her love for diamonds and the fact that she never lets anyone else buy them for her. Wittily trashing the “gold-digger” tag, she reminded the trolls of the same. “I dig deeper than Gold…and I’ve always (famously) preferred Diamonds!!😉😁❤️And yes I still buy them myself,” she wrote!
Well, spoken like a true queen! Kudos to Sushmita for calling out the patriarchal mindset that makes people automatically assume that a woman is after money when she starts dating a rich man. The trolls are clearly forgetting that Sushmita, the former Miss Universe and a successful actress, does not need to date a rich man for his money. She already has every material thing that she needs or wants. She is “the rich man”!
