Jeans are my go-to wardrobe essential, whether I’m heading to a mall, a lunch date with friends or even parties! However, I’ve always been a clean skinny jeans kind of girl. But recently I tried the new Levi’s 501 CT jeans, and even though they were completely unlike what I usually go for, I fell in love!
First, the outfit
These jeans can be worn in your regular size as well as downsized or upsized, depending on the fit you prefer. I chose to wear the upsized version, so they’re quite slouchy – and I think pale bleached denims are perfect for summer!
It’s very easy to style these with any graphic tee and sneakers for a laidback look, but I chose to go down the dressier route – pairing them with a black camisole top, a light coverup and heels, but chose to keep my makeup simple, yet glamorous! I choose to call this look “Modern Grunge”. I think it’s a great blend of dressy and casual, and is perfect for both day and night parties!
Now, for the makeup…
I primed my skin first and then applied my favourite foundation. You could go for light or heavy coverage, depending on your skin and preferences (mine is medium) – just make sure that you get a good shade match.
I rarely use eyeshadow, but I did swipe on some shadow stick, to define the crease. Then I used liquid liner to create a wing and a shimmery gold to highlight my inner corner (my absolute favourite makeup trick – it just takes a few seconds, and makes such a big difference!)
I love filling in my eyebrows because it just frames my face perfectly. I prefer to use this brow kit consisting of powder and gel because it gives a more natural look compared to an eyebrow pencil. I also curled my lashes and applied mascara. I didn’t want to do too much because the focus was going to be on my lips.
On my lips, I just applied Pure Garnet from the L’Oreal Collection Star Range. This shade is such a showstopper, and just spending a minute or two blotting and reapplying ensures the lipstick will stay put for hours on end.
Finally, the accessories…
I’m not much of an accessory person, so I just added a minimal silver necklace, picked up a black clutch, and I was good to go!

If you’re a jeans girl like me, but stick to just one type because you think it looks good on you, I’m urging you to experiment with new cuts, colours and styles. Who knows, you might love it!
