Being on lockdown has definitely hampered our monthly salon visits and we can forget about getting facials, waxing, threading, manicures, pedicures, and even body glow treatments. But, if you’re a big believer in treat yo self and self-care, you can make your own body scrub and give your bathing routine an instant upgrade!
When you’re inside all day long, your skin can feel a little dull but there’s nothing a TLC session cannot solve. And since we all have some extra time on our hands, let’s make some delicious body scrubs that’ll exfoliate, brighten and cleanse our body in no time.
Getting into bed with a fresh pair of sheets while you just waxed/shaved and exfoliated your body, is one of the best feelings in the world, right?
We got in touch with Dr. Shweta Netke, an Ayurvedic Doctor at Forest Essentials who shared two of her favourite recipes for DIY body scrubs. Team POPxo added in 2 more recipes, making it 4 awesome DIYs you can try this week.
Ready for some scrub-a-dub action?

– 2 tbsp honey
– ½ cup Brown rice flour
– 1 tbsp. Turmeric powder
– 2 tbsp. Extra virgin coconut oil
– Mason jar or any other component for storing
Step 1: In a bowl, add all the ingredients together and mix well.
Step 2: When you feel the mixture is gritty enough, store your DIY body scrub in a jar.
Step 3: Apply the scrub after you’ve taken a shower to exfoliate your body from head to toe.
Step 4: Shine bright like a diamond!
– 1 cup whole oats
– ½ cup Powdered dry marigold/rose petals
– 1.5 cups full cream milk
– ½ cup Almond oil
– Empty jar for storing
Step 1: In a bowl, add all the ingredients together and mix them well.
Step 2: Now that your body scrub is made, apply it all over your body (after your bath) to get rid of all that dead skin.
Step 3: Get out of the shower, lather on some body lotion and you’re done.
Please note: Make sure you store your body scrub in a refrigerator to keep it fresh. If you think it smells foul, throw it immediately and make a fresh batch again.
