Soak Up The Sun… Screen! Your Quick Guide On How To Apply & Reapply Spray Sunscreen

When it comes to your skin, it’s better to be cautious than sorry. Because tanning, sunburn, and, worst-case scenario, melanoma will not save you from the snares of the enemy (damaging UV rays). By now, you know the drill. Sunscreen is a must-have—even in overcast weather..

Which is why we’re big fans of sunscreen sprays. They provide the same protection as their lotion or cream-based counterparts if applied appropriately, but the advantage is that you don’t have to spend that much time rubbing them in (though, to ensure you don’t miss any spots, you should perform a pass with your hands as well). We’re spilling the tea on how to apply (reapply) sunscreen sprays.

Tried-And-Tested Tips For Applying & Reapplying Sunscreen Spray

Consider this a mandatory summer read! So now, you’ve slathered on your sunscreen and are set for a day at the beach. Are you ready to step out yet? Not so soon… You should carry your sunscreen in your beach bag because you’ll need to reapply it at least every two hours. Make that every 80 minutes if you’re sweating or swimming.

Tip 1: Hold The Nozzle Close To Your Skin To Apply Generously

Apply sunscreen 15-20 minutes before going outside to guarantee your protection. Spritz your sunscreen spray as the final step in your skincare routine, allowing it to penetrate for about five minutes before applying makeup. Choose a solution suited for your skin type and apply it liberally. One teaspoon of sunscreen should be applied to the face, neck, and head; any less will reduce the SPF.

Tip 2: Rub It In Gently

Rub the sunscreen in after spraying to ensure that you didn’t miss any spots and that you have an even layer of coverage.

Tip 3: Avoid Inhaling Sunscreen Spray

Never spray sunscreen around or near your face or mouth, and never inhale it. Instead, apply the sunscreen on your hands first, then to your face.

Tip 4: Do Not Use It On Windy Days

On windy days, avoid applying spray sunscreen. These conditions make it more difficult to apply sunscreen and more likely to inhale it accidently.
