Bolo Azaadi! It’s August 15, a day that unites all of India, as we come together to celebrate the country’s Independence Day. This joyous day marks the historic occasion when India finally broke free from the shackles of British rule in the year 1947. People across the nation commemorate the freedom fighters, who fought a long struggle for India’s independence. It is a day of immense pride for all Indians, a day that fills each one of us with the spirit of patriotism.

Sidharth Malhotra, who played the character of Kargil hero Captain Vikram Batra in the recently released film Shershaah, visited the National War Memorial in New Delhi. He posted a picture on social media in which he is seen standing with folded hands in front of Captain Vikram Batra’s statue. Sharing the picture, Sidharth tweeted, “Paid my respects to Captain Vikram Batra & all other Fauji heroes in Delhi. Truly had an emotional moment there! Standing in front of his statue, remembering his sacrifice & of 527 other war martyrs…Happy Independence Day.”
