We are not mind readers, but we know exactly what image will pop up in your head if we say ‘Akshara’. After all, the longest-running Indian soap Ye Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has made it a household name over the years. Also, the fact that it was played by Hina Khan made the character truly unforgettable. So yes, when we say ‘Akshara’, we are instantly reminded of the quintessential daily soap DIL who loved her family to a fault. And, believe it or not, once our Indian audience starts looking at you as an adarsh bahu, there is no going back from that. They sometimes even forget that the character an artist plays is purely fictional and that they have a personality of their own.
Well luckily, all of that changed when the actress decided to quit the show and introduce the world to the real Hina Khan. Obviously, her fans loved her on Bigg Boss 11 and bookmarked all her chic looks for sartorial inspiration. I mean, no one can forget her massive collection of cute nightdresses, right? But, interestingly enough, in a recent interview with a leading daily, the actress revealed that she had not consciously planned any of it.
Hina’s decision to leave YRKKH had shocked many. While talking about it, she said, “When I left Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai I had nothing in mind. I had never thought about any image makeover or proving anything to anybody or to the world. I wasn’t thinking that I want to show my side to the world. It was not the case. I was just done with the show and I wanted to take a break. That’s it.”
From her Glamm debut at Cannes Film Festival in 2019, where she aced the dazzling Ziad Nakad gown to her uber stylish snaps on the ‘Gram, the actress has awed her fans time and again. “But the whole game changed when I went inside the Bigg Boss 11 house. “That too not when I was inside the house, it was when I came out of the show. I just wore different clothes in BB 11. When I came out I realised ‘oh my outfits are being liked’, people have seen me in different light, I have become this fashionista for them. That’s when I made a conscious decision that I will keep this going,” she added.
