Oh to be soft yet fierce irrespective of the challenges of life throws at you is an art that few know and even fewer have mastered. This Women’s Day, Team POPxo looks back at some women who are well-versed with this art. These women are the true epitomes of perseverance. There are the women that continue to move us with their resilient spirits. These are the women who have inspired our dreams. These are the women who have made a positive difference in our lives. These are the women that we not only admire but also idolize.
Here are all the fierce women that Team POPxo looks up to:
Let’s Hear It For Team PC
The one woman who truly inspires me is Priyanka Chopra, for she’s truly arrived! Coming from a non-filmy background, she’s struggled her way to the top and is now probably the only Indian actress to have earned a place for herself in Hollywood. If you dream, you can achieve – that’s what she stands for to me.

Because Every Single Mom Is An Idol In Herself!
As cliched as it sounds, my mother is my biggest inspiration. You might hear that a lot from people but honestly, I look up to her for everything. From managing her finances to handling the house, I literally follow everything she does. She is a superhero and honestly, there is no one like her. You’d know the real meaning of hustle when you meet her. Happy women’s day, ma! Keep roaring like this.

Don’t We All Think Rainbows And Makeup
I think everybody who knows me knows that I spend countless hours watching makeup tutorials on YouTube. I have been following Nikkie de Jager (NikkieTutorials ) past 3-4 years now. I admire her because she is honest with her followers, about products, techniques and other likes or dislikes!. Recently, she was forced to come out as transgender. In the 17 minutes long video, she describes her journey and how she was forced to reveal her true identity to the world. Nikkie handled it so beautifully and definitely inspired me to face my demons!

This One’s For Some Sister Love
My biggest inspiration is my sister and not because I love her but because she is a person that I aspire to be every day. She created an organic skincare brand from scratch – from branding, designing, recruiting to distribution and everything else in between. Apart from that, she also works for an NGO to help other women in Dehradun. It wouldn’t be wrong to call her a one-woman army! Besides being super brave when it comes to choosing to do things which don’t seem easy at all, she is also a selfless, loving sister and I wish I could be even 10% of who she is.

A Toast To All The Women Who Always Speak Their Mind
Rana Ayyub, for being the fearless voice of dissent. Her work in investigative journalism as well as her self-published book, ‘The Gujarat Files’ has been one of the most important, if not the most, in uncovering essential facts that needed to be ousted to the public. She never backs down from voicing her opinion on the world platform, even post the unceasing threats. She is the unapologetically fierce, brave hero we need.

This One’s All Love For Her Super Cool Mom-In-law
Even though we are surrounded by bravest, powerful and amazing women, I like to draw my inspirations from my own home. And for me, it has to be my mother-in-law. She has the ability to love unconditionally and call out her son when she needs to, and I adore her for that. She takes care of my child when I’m at work, manages the house chores, cooks us delicious food, and the list of what she does for us is endless. Even though she is holding the fort down RN, she manages to meet her friends regularly and stay in touch with our extended family. My MIL inspires me every day to be a better person…the one, who cares about her family without having to ditch her friends.

Hailing All The Women Who Lead Change
It is very important to find strong female role models in a society like ours, where it is doubly hard to exist as a woman. Political campaigning for the Delhi assembly elections for the past few months has put Atishi Marlena, who is an MLA, educator, and activist from Delhi, in the spotlight. She is the brain behind the complete facelift that Delhi’s government schools have received–a feat that won the Aam Aadmi Party praises and was a major contributing factor for their recent win. I hope to see her take up more leadership roles in the future–an intelligent, educated and inspiring female leader is just what the young women growing up in India need!

To All The Female Entrepreneurs Out There
POPxo
For a long time, men were at the top of the business world. It wasn’t until the rise of influential female entrepreneurs like Indu Jain and Kiran Mazumdar Shaw that more women pursued entrepreneurship. Today you can find women at the head of many industries including, technology, design, publishing, and beauty. And these entrepreneurs are disruptive, trailblazing women who refuse to submit and accept defeat. Our founder & CEO, Priyanka Gill is one of them. She is on a mission to create quality content that’s relatable and speaks to women instead of talking them down. Without any business or management background, she has created India’s largest multi-lingual digital community for millennial women and we now have over 42 million users! Apart from POPxo, she’s also the brain behind two of the biggest digital brands: Plixxo and Luxeva. She is truly an inspiration to women who aspire to make it big and realise their dreams with smart execution, perseverance and hard work.

And Some More Sister Love
My sister and I have a very strong bond. She, in fact, is one of the closest people to me and I don’t what I’d do without her. I rarely open up to people, but she is someone who knows me inside out. She’s the first person I call up when I have good news to tell and also the first when I’m having a rather sh*t day. I enjoy our deep conversations about the universe, travel and culture. She’s my best friend and when I’m with her, there’s no place I’d rather be!

For The Love Of Words
It is always in good, impassioned literature that I find true inspiration and solace. This is why I keep going back to the poetry of Amrita Pritam whenever I find myself in a tough spot in life. There is this unyielding strength and resilience embedded in her words and I have always looked up to. Her writings have taught me fortitude irrespective of what life throws at me and I think of this as a virtue integral to protect your spirit in this wilderness of a world. And it is because of these lessons that I’d remain forever indebted to her words and all that they connote to.
