Ever since fashion and beauty blogger, Hanna S Khan tied the knot on March 3, 2021, her life seemed like a fairytale on social media. The influencer got married in Jal Mahal and Rambagh Palaces in Jaipur, Rajasthan and it was one of the most beautiful weddings we’ve ever seen. She was also the first Indian bride who wore world-famous designer, Elie Saab’s 30 kg Swarovski crystal gown. However, not everything beautiful lasts forever. On July 24, Hanna took her followers by surprise as she announced her divorce.
Hanna took to her Instagram to announce her separation from her husband, Shah Rukh Merchant. She revealed that she parted ways with her husband a year ago, but her divorce got finalised in July 2023. Hence, she waited almost a year to announce the separation. Hanna also stated that she needed time to process, heal, and focus on her career. She wrote, “I believed an immediate announcement would only lead to a downward spiral and now allow me the time and space I needed to process everything. I signed my divorce papers last week and finally feel ready to share this publicly.”
Further in her note, Hanna revealed the reason behind her divorce and stated that they had different values and perspectives on life. She also requested her followers to respect her privacy and give her time to come to terms with her divorce. She wrote, “We differed in our core values and perspectives on life. The gap was pretty wide to fill. This is the maximum I would be comfortable sharing on a public platform and would appreciate if you guys could respect my privacy and boundaries.”
Hanna also stated that she is doing much better now and that she has emerged stronger. She promised to continue to create content and post about her work and life. The influencer called the entire thing a “bad chapter” that she has “turned the page on a while back.” She wrote, “I’ve always turned my losses into wins, and I know I will emerge stronger than ever before. I thank God for protecting me and redirecting me through every obstacle that came my way. I’m blessed to have such a strong support system.”
Hanna’s Unique Nikaah Look
For her wedding day, Hanna Khan had ditched the traditional bright colours and made a statement in a beautiful silver jacket lehenga which was unlike anything we’d seen before. Designed by Ohaila Khan, the nikaah ensemble featured a lehenga skirt which was teamed with a matching blouse, a long jacket, and a sheer dupatta.
