All friends circles are made up of different characters and most of the time, people of the same age can be found in a circle. But if you have a group where everyone is three or four years older than you, then things can be slightly different. Here’s a list of 7 things you will definitely relate to if your friends are all older than you…
1. Your personal advisory panel
The people in your social group are the ones you rush to for any sort of advice because you know that they have been through the things you’re going through and that they survived! Be it advice about relationships, body issues, fights or even sex, you know you can count on their advice as it comes from their real life experiences and not just guesswork!
2. You have deep conversations
The conversations you have with these guys are very different than the ones you have with your contemporaries. When you sit with your older friends, you have intense conversations about real life, about savings and taxes and the future as a whole. You can already imagine what life will be like 5 years from now…
3. You end up becoming a good listener
When you hang out with a bunch of people who are a older than you and have gone through more things than you, you learn to listen more! You sit down, sincerely hearing out their stories and the experiences they have got to share with you and try to absorb as much as you can.
4. You become popular in college
Since you hang out with the seniors (who’ve been in the college longer than you have), you are recognised by a lot of people, which includes the batchmates of your ‘senior’ friends. Along with that, all the lecturers know you by your name too! It’s up to you to decide if you like it or not 😉
5. You have early ‘firsts’
Your first experience with things like alcohol, hookah or maybe even a cigarette takes place before your other friends who’re your age. You may tend to get too excited about it all but your group won’t let you lose control – they’re there to watch your back!
6. You can just skip all the drama
Since these guys are older than you, you know that they have no interest in the drama which usually occurs amongst your younger friends. They don’t beat around the bush about anything and tell you things as they are. They don’t give you any false hopes about life but they don’t demotivate you either and you love them for this!
7. You’ll forever be the baby of the gang
No matter how old you get, you will always be the youngest and to them you’ll be the “little one” forever. There will always be some rules you’ll have to follow but this also comes with a lot of pampering! It’s like having siblings whom you don’t have to live it and so it’s a great situation overall 😛
