The 78th Annual Golden Globes were a tad bit different this year. We had celebrities zooming in from New York City and Los Angeles but that did not stop them from serving major hair and makeup looks. From Laverne Cox to Emma Corin (aka Princess Diana from the Crown), we were spoiled for choice when it came to stealing beauty looks from the stars.
Here beauty looks from the 2021 Golden Globes made us do a double take…
Laverne Cox’s Glossy Red Pout
The beautiful actress looked like a goddess at the 2021 Golden Globes with her braided crown hairstyle. She paired glossy red lips with sultry brown smoked-out eyes and lots of bronzer. We stan this look! To make your gloss stay in place for hours, line and fill in your lips with a red lip liner. This will give your gloss a base to stick to. Then, swipe on some lipstick and then finish off with a high-shine gloss.
Amanda Seyfried’s Peach Blush
The actress kept things simple when it came to her makeup by opting for a glowing peachy look. Her soft glam (think shades of pink and peach) matched her Oscar De La Renta gown and was paired with classic Hollywood waves. To get the barely-there-rouge look, skip your usual pink blush and go for a coral shade. For a natural finish, tap it into your cheeks using your fingers.
Sarah Paulson’s Slicked Back Bob
Sarah Paulson’s refreshing take on the flipped-out hair trend made us wonder why we hadn’t tried it earlier ourselves! She wore her hair deeply parted, in a classic slicked back fashion with the ends curled out. To get the look, start with wet hair. Using a boar bristled brush, brush it all back. Part it the way you like with the end of a fishtail comb and then start straightening it with an iron. Make sure you curl the ends out and finally, take some lightweight oil or gel and run it through your hair.
Sarah Hyland’s Soft Glam Look
Save this makeup look immediately because makeup artist Allan Avendano has made nailing a soft glam look easier than ever! He skipped eyeliner altogether and instead chose to use two different formulas (a brown cream and powder eyeshadow) to et a smoked-out eye makeup look. Brows were kept fluffy and multiple swipes of mascara finished the look. The trick to nailing this look lies in making sure you line your lower lash line with a brown pencil as well as your upper lids.
Emma Corrin’s Deep Side Parted Hair
Emma, who won the award for the Best Actress in a Television Series Drama for her portrayal of Princess Diana in The Crown , wore her hair in a slicked-back, side-parted bob. She paired it with a cherry red lipstick and Twiggy-esque lashes. We love! To get the clumpy lashed look, start by applying a coat of black mascara to your top and bottom eyelashes. Then, carefully place individual lashes to your lower lash line. Swipe on some more mascara and you’re set.
Lily Collins’ Jewel Toned Eyes
The actor stunned with her emerald and amethyst-toned eye makeup. She wore a dark purple shade on her top lids and lined her lower ones with a rich green hue. Multiple coats of mascara tied the look together. Wearing colour on your eyes doesn’t have to be challenging and here’s some proof!
