Here’s the scenario every time I put on a face (slang for putting on make-up), I dress up, and I go and meet my friends, most of whom are men, for some reason. Ladies, hit me up if you want to be BFFs. Anyway, either I am told that I have too much gunk on my face and they’re afraid I’ll rub things off on their shirt, or when I go for a nude look, they think I’m tired or sick. All in all, they ALWAYS have an opinion. Another thing that I have noticed is that these opinions are almost always related to my lipstick colours and not anything else on my face. So, to have my own fun, I set up a little lipstick pop quiz for them!
The Setup:
5 lipstick shades, 4 questions, 3 men a.k.a lab rats!
The 3 Guys:
Boy 1: 24, Copywriter
Boy 2: 26, First Officer (doesn’t mind being called captain *wink*)
Boy 3: 30, Runs a digital ad agency
The Questions:
- What colour do you think it is? (This question was just to prove that men cannot differentiate colour.)
- What do you think about the colour? (Eg. If a woman has this colour on, what would you think about the woman)
- Where should I wear this colour? (Eg. Work, wedding, costume party, whatever.)
- On a scale of very approachable to intimidating. Rate each colour.
How it went down…
Lipstick #1: Bright tangerine
When I have this lipstick shade on, I feel really peppy. It makes me feel a little brighter. I would wear this shade at a pool party or brunch.
