Red carpet appearances are the perfect opportunity for Bollywood stars to flaunt their style while also setting fashion goals, but sometimes, things don’t go out as planned. With styling and fashion picks gone terribly wrong, red carpets are also where the worst sartorial decisions are visible. Think you’ve seen all those avoidable fashion choices? Think again for there are more!
From all-over glitz to underwhelming style, here’s taking a look at some of the worst red carpet appearances in Bollywood.
For a rare awards outing, Rani Mukerji stepped out in all the glitz you could imagine, and the result was not one of our favourite looks. The ill-fitted jacket and the all-over metallic bling could have definitely been avoided if you ask us!
Shilpa Shetty is usually dressed up to nines in her impeccable style but at a red carpet last year, the actor’s Reema Acra gown didn’t match up. The bling, the semi-sheer element, the dual-tone and that slick hairstyle gave in to a rather underwhelming red carpet look.
Remember Deepika Padukone’s Cannes 2019 look that gave way to a number of memes? The lime-green tulle gown by Giambattista Valli had umpteen layers to it, complete with sleeves that didn’t look right. The headscarf and the bows on the gown certainly did nothing to add anything to the couture outfit, making it a case of red carpet style gone amiss.
Is that a bodysuit? Are those co-ords? Paired with a fringe cape cinched at the waist which did nothing, Bhumi Pednekar’s red carpet appearance from an awards ceremony is all things gone wrong. And yes, those sneakers should’ve been left far behind.
As someone who is always setting style goals, Priyanka Chopra doesn’t usually go wrong with her sartorial choices. However, her first public appearance post her wedding with Nick Jonas didn’t work in her favour. A pale dress and makeup that didn’t match aside, PC’s red bangles just didn’t go along with her outfit.
Dressed in an appliqué yellow gown by designer duo Pankaj & Nidhi, Kiara Advani’s red carpet appearance failed to impress. With a number of things going wrong aesthetically—placement sheer element, embellishment and tassels(?), the Bollywood actor could’ve given this one a miss for her outing.
Sometimes, even Bollywood’s resident style diva can go wrong, and her red carpet look from a few years back is testimony to it. Opting for a princess-like gown that incorporated layers, embroidery and even a cape, Sonam Kapoor’s outfit was more of a miss than what she was going for.
We all mess up sometimes, so here’s hoping for impeccable style ahead!
